  • Without a doubt, perfect for professional use.
Having been a tradesman for decades now and more recently opening my toolbox up to upgrades and new ideas to be more efficient and effective, rather than stubborn. Having the, "Forget your fancy tools, my bucket of random hand tools collected over the years including not only a pair of overly worn Channel Lock pliers, a dual head mallet with a cracked handle, measuring tape that needed to be thrown out five years ago, universal screwdriver missing half the bits, bent needle nose, a Basic as basic can get utility knife and 'ol trusty. (A 24oz framer that probably weighs closer to 30oz) among other things, I ran my mouth a little too much, stating that I could do more with a bucket of tools than the younger hot shot foreman could do with his entire truck. I found myself needing to do a little upgrading. I won't mention other brands in the review but i'm sure you can find them from my profile or something as I slowly review the winners and losers. Let me tell you about these Vampliers! The name caught my eye, importing from the Land of the Rising Sun was a turn off BUT can J-A-PAN make the most amazing pliers you've ever wrapped your chicken chokers around! From first touch you can FEEL the quality, over ANY AND ALL your typical brands you can buy your Red Millwonkies, black and yellow bumble bee brand for the bros, Hooskies, Crapsman, ChanelSmock, etc etc etc.....the ONLY comparable pliers come by Klein and yet, they're not even close. You'd swear they were custom sized for your meat hooks, even I could preform delicate maneuvers with these babies! After using this particular pair for a week, I tossed all my old pliers and splurged on the full set. Now you won't be doing this as a DIYer unless you're trying to show off how much money you spent on tools that you'd never know the difference between cheap crap and amazing devices as such, apprentice? Keep dreaming buddy, in a decade or two once you pay your dues. Old dog looking for new tricks? Want to carry less in your bag/bucket but be able to accomplish more with each tool. Spend the dollars, the ONLY way you'll regret it is if you lose a pair and need to buy them again. Prone to leaving pliers or smaller tools behind? Put a leash on them, don't give these to some dim witted home owner who will toss them into a plastic fisher price tool box to never see the light of day again. Oh, and yeah, they'll extract rounded and damaged screws and bolts. Now now all you reviewers that 'did not work' lets tamper our expectations. You have to have enough head to grab onto first and most importantly the hand strength to grip the pliers and fastener......all those on line discussions and lattes maybe haven't given you the proper tools to use......the proper tools with, if these did not work for you, the problem most likely can be found at the end of the pliers, but before the chair. These are perfectly and amazingly made. ... show more

  • Came in Handy Real Quick!
After over 55 years of using Vise Grips, lineman pliers, dikes, drills, and various extraction tools, I treated myself to one of these, after seeing someone use it (read:hawk it), on a YouTube video. I actually made something of this type years ago by drilling the tip on a pair of slip joint pliers. It didn’t work out, if I recall. Some pliers do have a tip that is formed like the Vampliers, but I never found a pair that did the job. Maybe the design is different, or they weren’t hardened properly. I figured I’d give these a chance. The day after they arrived, I had to do some maintenance on my ~30 year old Craftsman 16 gallon shop vac. Needless to say, several of the 8-32 steel screws were rusted, so I used my lineman’s pliers (which were nearby), to extract the screws that cammed out, forgetting that I had the Vampliers sitting upstairs. The last screw was in a tight place where the lineman pliers wouldn’t fit, and the Phillip head was gone. At that point my two remaining brain cells connected and recalled the Vampliers VT-006-2. It grasped the screw head very easily, I turned the associated nut, and it was loose, no drama. If I didn’t have this, I could have ground the screw head off with my carbide burr, but this was way easier. The very end (and the side, also), is made especially to grasp fasteners that are deformed, and it works very well in that regard, with surprisingly little force needed on the handle. I haven’t used the cutter yet, but it seems nicely made. I think back on all the times I could have used this over the years. Someone gave it two stars because they couldn’t remove the nut retaining their lawnmower blade with it! Come on, every tool has its limits. People knock it because the serrated jaws don’t mesh completely and they can’t grasp thin material. I, too, have a gap on mine, but I can still grasp one sheet of copy paper if I squeeze hard enough. If you are buying this to adjust thin material (like shim stock), you’re buying the wrong tool. $35+ is a lot for a small pliers, but it can pay for itself very quickly in time and aggravation saved, especially if you are a professional. I recommend them, and may be buying them for my sons-in-law for Christmas, unless they pi** me off too much before now and then! ... show more

  • First impressions…small
Negatives: - Smaller than anticipated (my fault as ad DOES state the size of the tool). - Price for one set of SMALL pliers is 300% more than similar pliers of other brands. - Jaws have 2-3mm space between them when closed. If these were large pliers I wouldn’t be concerned. Not a fan of this. This gap will reduce leverage angle & overall grip strength. Positives: - Easy to hold and manipulate. (Spring loading these would be a HUGE help) - Very smooth opening and close. - Perfect grip. Not to hard, not too soft. - Unique style Recommendations: - Make these small version spring loaded (open/close). - Have jaws close completely to create a stronger jaw force. * Ultimately I WILL keep these. I’m a sucker for odd ball tools like these. They ARE overpriced, and they ARE mainly designed to GRAB SCREW HEADS. Do I recommend? Na, do I NOT recommend? Naaa ... show more

  • Awesome
This product lives up to its claims. I've never been as satisfied using a pair of pliers which is a weird thing to say. But if you want some flyers that can grab practically anything these are as good as they say they are. I will definitely buy more from this company.
