This thing has the form factor of a Gameboy Advance SP, and works exactly as advertised. There's a bit more to it than the SP, you don't load a cartridge in, you pick from a menu of emulators and then enjoy! It's a sturdy little box, has nice screen, controls (more buttons than an SP, but that's fine, it can play original PlayStation games!) and and speakers. Battery life is similar to the original SP as well, so no real complaints. It's easy to add any games you feel they missed by navigating to the ROMS directory on the included memory card and putting them in the appropriate sub folder. You may want to check the FC (Famicon is the Japanese name for the NES) folder and rename some of the files from .NES to .nes... the uppercase file extensions aren't able to be read by the emulator. Easily fixed! The Sega Genesis emulator needs a little tweaking to get the C button to register... but they included Shadowrun, THE NO 1 REASON TO PLAY SEGA GENESIS, so I can't be mad. Overall, this is your 90's video game childhood in a neat form factor, cannot recommend enough! ... show more

I purchased 2 of these for my 2 boys after seeing a video review on YouTube, which gave this product great feedback. The negative is that you can’t save all games, but you can save on any game that gives that option. The positive is that battery life is great and the battery itself is easy to replace. The amount of games is certainly impressive along with a game pad that is pretty damn good. it’s also capable of using cheat codes for those games equipped from the manufacturer and on your screen, IE Metroid, Punch Out, Super Mario World etc. it’s worth every penny I spent. The media could not be loaded. It's rare that I could find a third party device that can capture the nostalgia of my childhood so well. My review will be based off the out of box experience of the Powkiddy and updates will reflect the durability of this device. The Powkiddy v90 comes in a decent plastic shell that passes for a console but may not survive a hard fall. The screen is perfect and does not come with any dead pixels or burns. The volume slider and speakers work very well. The USB-C works as intended in charging with no hickups or loose spots. The games library is excellent, included every game needed and saved me a alot of time; collecting files. I did notice the chip needs win10 to work (?). I have other ports I want to add later on and it would be nice if I could transfer software files on my Android 9 without hurting the micro-usb. I can understand the power off situation, the Operating System functions exactly like computers do. Where the system needs to be shut down to protect the operation files before the power to the machine can be turned off. Comes with carrying case and wrist strap, baseline USBC cable Overall this product is very welcome to my collection, many of the experiences I never had; being gated out due to parent's f***ncial shortcomings. I’ve only had this device for one day, within 3 hours of playtime the battery was low, so I decided power it down properly, until I can plug it in to charge… last time I saw it on, charging indicator wouldn’t even work. It’s honestly disappointing.

This unit is simply amazing for the price. It is basically ready to play out of the box and doesn't require you to become a retro handheld geek just to make it usable. It is highly pocketable making it easy to take with you anywhere for quick game sessions while waiting in a line or grabbing something to eat. It can be found for cheaper elsewhere but then you have to wait a month or more for delivery. It's worth the extra cost if you want to get it right now.
