I bought this forth my niece for Christmas and it was a total hit. By chance she opened this first and there was no interest in other gifts after. She took a little while to figure out how to print the pictures and tare the printouts from the camera, but the soon took to it. The controls on the back allow for lots of creative freedom for the little user but learning to use this might take a little bit. The SD card in the camera is great because it is possible to save pictures to the computer taken from her perspective. These will be fun to share with her in the future. Just to note it is possible for the user to mistakenly reformat the SD card so it might be wise to backup the SD card more often than not. My niece is almost five for reference on age of the child this was gifted to. From the picture you can see she has decorated her camera extensively. I like that there is space to be creative not just with the pictures but the camera itself. There are hundreds of fun pictures printed out all over my sister's house. Including a number of very flattering early morning shots. We all look our best when photographed from a five years olds perspective minutes after waking up. The low cost of printing gives my niece the chance to all the hard copies she wants at a negligible cost because of the thermal printing paper. I have the printer paper refills on subscribe and save, I drop them off as a gift each month to my niece and she is very happy. Before wrapping: If you are confident this is a gift your little one will like consider opening and charging the camera (USB C) before returning to the box and wrapping. There was a little kid meltdown when the camera ran out of juice just before lunch. We got both of our kids (aged 4 and 8) this camera for christmas and they love it! To be honest i love it and use it too. It prints cutesy little pictures. Almost similar to the old school pictures you would get from that one ride at chuckee cheeses. I found the camera itself and the paper rolls to be very affordable. Its easy to learn how to use. Theres a lotttt of features on it too! They even have different print options. I personally like the dotted ones the best but they're all nice. I highly recommend! ... show more

This is a really fun kiddie cam, but also fun for grownups. It prints arcade-style black-and-white small prints, and you choose from two styles: dot matrix and smooth. Print quality is good when you have good lighting and medium contrast (i.e., not too dark, and no super bright areas in your picture). But the good part is each picture is stored on the microSD card so you can print color later on a real printer. I've tried all the other instant-print color cameras but they're more expensive both for the hardware and for the paper, and 90% of the time the prints come out bad anyway, so it's kind of nice to be able to print b&w instantly but still be able to select the best photos for real printing later. ... show more

My grandson was over the moon with his camera. He got it out of the box, loaded his film and began taking pictures for Xmas. It has a removeable strap which makes it easy to carry and shoot.
