  • Better than expected
Style: LT01 Pro
Build quality seems to be very good. I just got it today, so it hasn't been to the range, and I was only able to test it in the back yard. Unless you have a long eye relief scope, you won't be able to swap it on and off without moving your scope and rezeroing. Fortunately my scope has just enough eye relief to be able to pull it off. If it were an inch or shorter it would make it easier to swap between regular scope and scope with night vision. The IR light needs to be able to zoom out more. All they have to do is allow it to screw in more, it should not be that hard. But as a workaround, you can unscrew the inner ring on the IR light, pull out the lens and flip it around backwards, and then you can zoom out more. I've used inexpensive night vision scopes before and they suffered from very annoying lag and freezing up. So far this scope has had ZERO lag. None. Zip Zero Nada. And no freeze ups. I like the natural light night vision. With a good scope attached it's more useful. With a short scope of decent quality attached, you could use it as a pretty decent standalone night vision monocular. *** 1/31/23 UPDATE *** The more I play with it, the more I like it. Have not been to the range yet, but I figured out how to deal with being able to take it on and off the rifle scope. Pretty simple actually, but it requires a collapsable buttstock. Set it up so that it's comfortable to use with the night vision scope attached and the buttstock fully extended. Then when you take it off, just collapse the buttstock until you can get your eye close enough to the rifle scope. I discovered quite by accident that under certain cirvcumstances, you don't even need the IR emitter to use in IR mode. I was testing it out on the rifle at night and tried to focus the IR beam and nothing happened. Then I realized that the front flip up cover on the scope was blocking the IR beam. It would be nice if there were a way to use it in IR mode with the emitter off so you can extend your battery life. ... show more

  • Lights, Camera, Action?
Style: LT01
I want to like this product because it's my first foray into night vision equipment and is exciting to move around in the dark, but there are a couple things on here that I can't seem to figure out. That's if those features do exist. IR Light • It has a high and low level IR light which is great, but aren't able to further adjust level of brightness or its spread. Even on low IR setting, the image gets blown up with a giant hot spot when viewing up close. From a distance of maybe 20 ft it starts to clear out. Laser • It's fun making my cat chase the laser pointer. That was the hallmark of my exploration so far, but it is currently off center and I can't find anything in the manual talking about the laser adjustments. It would be great because it would be a complimentary thing for the reticule if anyone knows how to work it. Video Recording • The video recording on my device is sufficient. It is crystal clear when viewing and recording in IR modes, so clear that I can actually see the stars at night more than I can see with a naked eye, but the daylight recording is a bit muddy. Sound Recording • Sound recording is extremely muffled. I can hardly hear myself at regular speaking volume. ... show more

Best bang for your buck. Works the best attached to your existing scope. Definitely a must have, if you want to see in total darkness.

  • Instructions just cut off half way through.
Style: LT01
I had to look up how to finish putting it together. Once you learn to use it the night vision works pretty good. I hope they fixed the instructions or that mine was just an error.

  • Nice For The Price - Some Shortcomings
Style: LT01
One of my sons has a $4,500 night vision setup... and while this UT&T unit doesn’t quite matchup to my son’s unit, it actually does a decent job... especially for the price. That said, this unit will not work with a lot of rifle scopes on the market, so if hunting is your primary use of this, do your homework before ordering. There are no caps or protective covers for the eyepiece or lens, so use caution to not scratch those. Another thing is the rechargeable battery in this unit is one of those weird sized newer style batteries that have been showing up in Chinese made electronics in recent months. For now, this is an uncommon size, so you probably can’t run down to your local store to grab one if the one in the unit goes bad. It would also be nice to have a fully charged backup battery with you in the field, so you can swap out if the one in the unit runs down. The unit does have many good features for this price range, and it is nice to be able to record everything. It feels very solid. The instruction booklet is very basic, so you’ll have to play around with it to learn all of the nuances. ... show more
