As I have been doing a bunch of computer/laptop formats, having this is a huge time saver. I have made my own but this is for those who just need a bootable drive and do not want to go through the hassle of making one.. You only get 64 bit (although I am unsure why someone would still be using 32 bit nowadays). One thing I will note is that this does not look like a USB 3.0 drive so it did make it feel a little slow on install but nothing that I can complain about. For the most part, I just leave it running and come back later when it is completed. I did not really time it but it was done in the two hours I was away. It is not too slow compared to many other drives I have converted to bootable drives (note they were 2.0 as well). It does have a little bit of space as well so I can put in small programs that I may want to install on my pc such as chrome or firefox. It makes it easier for me if I do not have any internet connection. This thumb drive is pretty decently built although the metal is a bit easy to scratch. Mine actually came with a few scratches from the key ring that is provided. The key ring is not installed when it first arrives so you have to do that yourself. You are able to spin the usb out and back in with ease. Although be warned the spin joints can become really loose if you constantly always spin the thumb drive out. You may actually it to lose it's friction on the spin and it'll just flop around. I have no real fix for this other than do not constantly spin it when you do not need the thumb drive which I do a lot. What is nice about these is that they are color coded which makes it a lot easier to identify as I have other thumb drives of this sort that I use for booting up. The price as well is pretty reasonable for a windows thumb drive. Now most people would wonder why they would want this when you can make your own. I think this is really easy to use and also it comes with different versions. When installing windows 10 operating system, the thumb drive does get warm but not too hot. When booting up your thumb drive, make sure you set the bios to boot from the thumb drive or else it may just boot up to no media or your old windows. Other than that, it is pretty much a plug and play USB device. It will read on windows 7 and 8 if you happen to need any files to transfer (small of course). The packaging is really simple it is just in a plastic bag. There is also a build in loop that you can use to attach it to a key chain or lanyard which is nice. It also comes with a key ring. For me, I actually like to have those lanyards so I can hang the thumb drives making them easier to find and store. This does have 64 gb so you can add additional software if you need which is a plus for me. I can usually have drivers and such on this drive or some programs that I may need. The user interface is the same as any windows 10 install. It has always been user friendly and installing windows is pretty simple. Overall this a good windows boot drive. It has everything you need without you having to do the work to collect the versions and creating your own bootable drive. It has plenty of space so it can handle windows 10 64 bit version while giving you a bit of space have additional software in case you do not have internet connection to download them yourself. The drive boots up pretty well and installation is flawless without any error or issue. The only issue I have is the that spinning mechanism wore out REALLY fast. ... show more

Did not allow me to reboot Windows on my laptop. Looks like it only wanted to offer to reinstall windows, and wipe out all of my data while doing so. I purchased another one, and that did work and allowed me to reboot Windows. That one that worked great was product no B0BYW1G4QR

    • Exactly what I needed

Based on the description, this was exactly what I needed. Randomly, I was not able to boot into Windows and would only be met with a black screen where I could see the mouse move, but nothing else. I also had a significant amount of trouble booting into Windows safe mode, even after rebooting 3 times before windows tries to load, which is supposed to automatically take you into safe mode. Even during those random times I could get to safe mode, no option would work to correct the issue. Since my SSD boot drive was about 4 years old, I just assumed it needed to be replaced. I bought a new SSD, but needed a way to reinstall Windows 10. However, since I no longer have the Windows 7 DVD which is what was originally purchased and then subsequently upgraded for free, I needed an alternative path. Thus this Key was what I needed to do a clean install of Windows 10. There were no issues during the install and the instructions seemed straight forward. My lack of the 5 star review is due to the cost (I could essentially could have created a recovery key for free, but I failed to do so before the drive failed). Overall, it does what it says it does, but do yourself a favor and create a recovery key and then keep in a safe place where you are going to remember. ... show more
