I got one to see if it would do ok on the "shady" side of the house. It lights up when approaching the gate from either side. It worked so well, we got a second one for farther down the path. It's autumn here, so obviously they aren't coming on after midnight, but they are needed for guests leaving parties - which are primarily in the summer months. I like the look of these lights the only problem is they do not stay on in the on position, they go off and will not come back on.

I was looking for something cheap to add some light to my carport after dark, and this ended up being better than I was expecting. The frame material is a decently sturdy metal while the light fully illuminates the box it is in.
