It is an exceptional product and does an outstanding job of keeping your grinder clean. I had a gourmet coffee store and in a commercial setting I used Urnex products. They make many products to help you keep your coffee equipment clean which in turn extends the life of the machinery and makes a better tasting cup of coffee. It gives you better performance when well maintained too. For those of us that buy whole beans to grind is looking for the superior cup of coffee. Urnex will only enhance this experience by running the Urnex tablets through your burr grinder every few weeks to a month (depending on how much coffee you make). This will work wonders and give you only the freshest tasting coffee or espresso. Just run your grinder briefly to make sure all beans have been ground. Add the Urnex Grinds cleaner from the single use packet, or from the 430 gm container, about one cap full, 35 – 40g. Grind through the grinder on a medium setting. Then use about two cycles of regular coffee beans to clean out any remaining cleaner. Why buy good coffee to enjoy and not follow all the steps to ensure it is the best cup of coffee possible. I have a Baratza Sette 270 grinder that I use for my Gaggia Classic Espresso machine. When the grinder works, it's great -- my shots come out at a perfect 27 seconds. But the grinder somehow stops grinding at the setting it's set at and the shots pour WAY TOO FAST, like 9-10 seconds (!). Initially, I thought it was my espresso machine, but after buying these Grindz pellets, the shots come out at a perfect 27 seconds again, so it's definitely the grinder. The pellets work extremely well, which is why I give them 5 stars, but I can really only get about 5-10 grinds out of it before I need to use them again -- but I'm pretty sure the fault is with the grinder, not the pellets. ... show more

    • Cleaning a Cuisinart Burr Coffee Grinder

I've had a Cuisinart burr coffee grinder for years and occasionally I'd attempt to clean by wiping out the interior of the hopper thoroughly with a damp paper towel to remove coffee oil, using a toothbrush to dislodge any loose particles in the burr and then using a vacuum or compressed air (as you'd clean a computer keyboard with) dislodge anything remaining...finally after several year I tried grinding some rice in it to remove the lingering taste after grinding flavored coffee. Turns out these Grindz tablets are a much faster solution less dusty solution than ride to get rid of flavored coffee residue but they won't substitute for cleaning the hopper or accumulated coffee oils. According to coffee mavens one of the recommendations when changing from one coffee to another in a burr grinder is to run a small amount of beans through to remove the residue of the earlier blend. Apparently all this fiddling works well as I've had my Cuisinart Burr Coffee Grinder for 15 years without a problem...I generally vary the grind between medium and fine (I'm guessing but I think coarse grinding may contribute to things being stuck) as well as the amount of coffee I'm grinding generally between 4 and 6-8 cups. All of that said, I was happy with the ease of cleaning with the Grindz Tablets and took an equal amount of beans to run through afterwards which seem to take care of any residual taste. I have read that regular use of grinder cleaning pellets might result in more dust in the long term and therefore a great dependency on grinder cleaning tablets...but so far the jury is out for me. In the meantime...I'll stick with a damp paper towel to remove coffee oil from the hopper and an occasional brushing and once over with a hand vacuum...grinding a few beans to toss when I change types of beans. Since that's worked for 15 years without Grindz tablets I'm saving the remaining 2 packets for times when I throw caution to the winds and grind a flavored coffee that lingers on and on in which case this seems like a fairly simple solution. ... show more

Love this product for my grinder, and also the SuperGrindz version for my Jura superautomatic espresso machine. Using this on a regular basis allows me to go for longer periods before I have to take apart my grinder and give it a thorough cleaning. It's an excellent product, and its good to be able to have a use for stale beans to run through the grinder after this product goes through to get this product out. It's been an excellent addition to my coffee routine, and I highly recommend the SuperGrindz version if you have a superautomatic espresso machine as well. ... show more

I have a Breville Barista Express Impress. The built-in grinder is difficult to get completely clean without taking it a part. There are several YouTube videos on the subject but the possibility of breaking something and voiding my warranty makes me nervous. This is a simpler solution. Once as clean as you can make the grinder, pour a packet of theses in and run them through the grinder. Clean the white powder as best you can. Then you have to sacrifice some of your fresh beans to completely clear the white powder. Have done it twice and am very satisfied. ... show more

I use these to help clean my OXO burr grinder, They are a bit messy and require some clean up and you must waste some beans to clear the hopper. Overall they do a good job.
