I've had this over a year now and its time to write a review. I was a little gunshy over purchasing it because I had never heard of the Upstream brand name. So I bought it because the semi auto defrosting looked good. As Isaid, I've had it for a while now and it turns out to be absolutely perfect. I set it at 40 deg and it locks on to 40. I tried it several degrees lower just to try it out and no problem. The last mini i had struggled to keep 40. Open the door once and it went almost to 50 deg. The evaporator looked like an igloo. I can't remember the name of the last mini. Right now i'm having a cold Fresca taken from my Upstream. I heartily recommend this refrigerator. ... show more

I got this for my garage - and really only wanted fridge space (beverage fridge), so it’s not a big deal to me that it doesn’t freeze - but we had a water leak on our main fridge and had to turn off the ice maker. I got some ice cube trays and decided to put them out in the garage as there was nothing in that freezer. The ice cubes never formed - not even the top layer. Not a big deal, as it keeps my beverages plenty cold, but if you need a functioning freezer, look elsewhere. ... show more

I researched mini fridges before purchasing one for my sons college dorm. This one had a good layout inside and was about $230...Not too bad. When it came, the box was intact. Had it a couple weeks and brought it to College in a different state still in the sealed box. Brought it to the dorm and unboxed it. The first thing I noticed a=was the dent on the top right corner. It was very sharp. There was also a dent on the side of the fridge. Figured it wasn't a big deal, only because it was for a college boy and he was raising his bed and put it underneath it. We plugged it in and it seemed to be getting cold as it was supposed to, but when I opened the door to check the temperature, the ENTIRE door fell off...I managed to put the door back on, but the seal didn't seem very secure... when I opened it up about an hour later to fill it up, I noticed that the door to the freezer section was off and laying at the bottom of the fridge. When I struggled to get it to stay on, I realized after a closer look that the little clip on one side of the little door was broken off. It was that moment that I decided to return it...too many things wrong for the price I paid, and buy one at the local SAM'S club. I contacted the seller who first offered me a refund of $50 and then $70 to keep it...I refused and told them I needed a full refund and a paid by them shipping label if they wanted the fridge back. After 3 days of back and forth emails, they decided to refund me the full price and said they did not need the fridge back and to dispose of it how I wish. They made the situation right but it was a pain in the butt to deal with. ... show more

I was surprised at the Energy efficiency of this fridge. It is one of the lowest that I've seen. Just like the other reviews, it is very quiet . I like it so much that I purchased another one and put it in my master bedroom right next to my bed. Now when I wake up in the middle of the night and want a drink of cold water on a hot night I don't even have to get out of bed. No I'm not lazy but I do like the convenience.
