Many years ago, I worked at RadioShack and sold very basic versions of this. While this does a very basic thing, it has some very helpful features. This 12v unit works great, it seems to handle Garmin GPS, cell phone, and my trailer tires pressure monitor. The voltage led seems to be accurate, as seen in photo the tire pressure Monitor voltage reading is off by .3 to .5 volts. I confirmed it with a electrical meter. The unit fits very secure in my 2003 GMC truck cigarette lighter, thanks to the rubber bushing provided. The 45 swivel holds what I plugged in just fine it did Not fall down. My old SUV had three 12-Volt connections, all reachable by the front seats, and two connections were always used. My new SUV has only two 12-volt connections, but while one is in the front, the other one is all the way in the rear near the liftgate/door.
