  • Best bag!
Size: 110L Color: Storm Grey
This waterproof bag can fit two people’s clothes and bedding. Perfect for camping and canoeing. Easy to travel with as it can go into the bed of a truck and it won’t go anywhere. Made out of the best material!

  • Best bag
Size: 155L Color: Adventure Orange
This bag is the best bag I have ever had. I use it for wildland firefighting, and it does wonders. It fits all my supplies like a breeze, and I can keep it strapped up on the outside of the fire engine, and I never worry about it getting weathered, or wet. It is extremely durable, and it feels like it if made out of rafting material, so it is very waterproof too. All in all, it is the best camping/outdoor bag I have every had, and I will buy another in 10ish years when this one needs retirement. ... show more

  • Bag for the traveler-savant
Size: 110L Color: Adventure Orange
My wife was a little less than happy with me when I bought three of these 65L bags for our trip to Peru (wife, son, me). She would have rather I paid about $100 less for each bag. Fast-forward a couple weeks when we're standing on an uncovered train platform in Aguas Calientes in the middle of a torrential rain storm (that soaked through my rain jacket) for 10 mins while we waited to board the train... my wife looked at me like I was traveler-genius bordering on traveler-savant. Even though we were all completely soaked to our bones... everything in these bags stayed dry. The good... These bags are completely overbuilt for travel. They are tough! ... and yet don't really weigh much. Loading them up with ~40lbs of gear was no big deal. The bags easily held their form, even when thrown around by porters. I have a feeling these bags will last well past a decade of hard adventure travel. Also great is the bright orange color when you're picking your bags out at baggage claim. I also like the backpack straps. Changing trains in South America means grabbing my ~45lb bag, my son's ~35lb bag, and other misc. Throwing my bag on my back worked very well. I would not want to use it as a backpack for more than an hour or so, but when you need it... it's not a problem. It's awesome at keeping the elements out. I would think twice about totally submerging it in water, but it performed excellently in one of the worst tropical rainstorms I've ever been in. By duffel bag standards, 65L isn't huge... but it was more than enough to pack all my gear for a 10 day trip to Peru, including hiking boots, poles and a couple deflated soccer balls for the small Quechuan villages we trekked through. The bad... The bags take a little while to get closed and ready to move. You don't just zip it up and go... you push out the air, zip it, roll it, push out more air, and then proceed to fasten and cinch a minimum of 4 straps to tighten everything down. And in my case... you end up doing that at least twice because you forgot to pack something in the bag, or your wife ran outta room in her bag. If I'm honest, it's kind of a pain. Also a little annoying is that you cannot remove the backpack straps very easily. Half of the baggage handlers grab the velcro'd down backpack straps instead of the carrying straps which means everything is out of place and snags on everything. Less annoying, I would have liked at least 2 real zippered chambers on the outside of the bag for storing things I might need more often (toiletries, etc...). There is a pocket on the side of the bag, but you can't get much in it of the bag is already full. Conclusion... If you're looking for the ultimate adventure travel bag that's fit for traveling through the Amazon, or tied to the top of a Jeep, AND you have the extra bucks for the price of admission, this is your bag. Anything short of that, you might want to consider something cheaper. ... show more

  • Well made bag with plenty of room.
Size: 155L Color: Adventure Orange
I got the 155L bag, it's a big bag and appears to be very well made. Bought to be used primarily in a canoe. Quality: Appears to be very well made. Quality materials. Stitching all looks great, no dangling threads or loose stitching that I can see. Where the seams are welded, all appear to be perfect. The material isn't as thick as some similar bags but I don't think that's a factor in the over all quality/durability. I like that the bag itself doesn't weigh a lot. Size: I loaded a 2/3 person Big Agnus tent, inflatable sleeping mat, foam sleeping mat(eggshell accordion style), a 40L wet bag stuffed with a MSS sleep system(green and black bag, no bivy), large Italian wool blanket, folding camp chair and 10'x12' tarp. Still have room for another dry bag for clothes/toiletries, as well as a fire kit, first aid kit and maybe some other odds and ends. That should pretty much fill up the bag. Probably going to get the 110L for my wife as she doesn't want the 155L and between the 2 bags should have plenty of room for all the gear we need for multiple day canoe/camping trips. I would recommend getting the bigger size than what you think you will need, it's always better to have extra room than it is to overstuff the bag. There are plenty of straps/attachment points to secure it. I could probably save a little space/weight using a compression bag for the sleeping bag and clothes versus using other dry bags but IF the bag were to fail I want to ensure those items stay dry and it wouldn't really save me all that much space overall so the safety factor outweighs the space factor for me. Space won't be an issue with the other 110L bag anyways. Durability: Haven't tested that yet, but I will update the review in a few months after a few canoe trips this fall. Two things I think I would like is to have the bottom 'tub' section to be double-thickness or an overall thicker material. Being that it's the same thickness as the rest of the bag, the bottoms of bags are prone to more wear, I think if the bag fails over time it will be a wear point on the bottom. In my experience that's just the nature of large bags that hold a lot of weight as they get moved around and slid over dirt and debris. The second would be a small patch kit in case the bag were to get punctured or a wear hole did form. Hopefully that won't be an issue. Time will tell. ... show more
