  • Great
Style: Remote for 5 Learn Button 2-P
Got these to replace to visor clip on style. So far both are working perfectly. Programming was so easy a caveman could do it.

  • Easy to program and works great
Style: Remote for 5 Learn Button 2-P
Bought 4 of these keys for my family. Works great. Here is how to program- To reach your garage door opener mounted on the ceiling, you will need a ladder or a stepping stool. There are two devices involved: a) Garage door opener: Mounted on the ceiling of the garage b) Remote control device: The one you bought from Amazon Close the garage door and use the stepping stool to get close to the garage door opener on the ceiling. Step 0: Garage Door Opener: Locate and note the color of the programming button on your garage door opener. Mine is YELLOW and made by Liftmaster. This remote will not work with a RED or ORANGE programming button. You should have already verified this before buying the remote, hence it is step 0. Step 1: Remote Control Device: On the keychain remote controller, press and hold the 'B' and 'C' buttons simultaneously. The blue LED on the remote will remain lit/ON. Release both the buttons at the same time; blue LED remains lit. Step 2: Remote Control Device: Now press and release the button you want to program (e.g., button 'C'). Do this once for yellow, twice or more for other colors. The blue LED will blink momentarily and then remain lit. Next, press any OTHER button except the one you are programming (e.g., press 'A', 'B', or 'D', but not 'C'). The LED will turn OFF. Step 3: Garage Door Opener: Press the programming button (yellow on my Liftmaster) on the garage door opener. The yellow programming LED will turn on indicating it is ready to pair with your key remote. Step 4: Remote Control Device: Press the button you are programming (in my case, 'C'). The light on the garage door opener will BLINK (turn on and off). Now, if you press 'C' (or the button you programmed), the garage door will open. The remote uses CR2032 battery.. ... show more

  • Works well but very cheap construction
Style: Remote for Learn Button & Dip Switch...
I have two garages that over the years ended up with different brands of opener. This "universal" opener is compatible with both of them and works well once I could get the buttons paired. The pairing process is laid out in the instruction manual clearly enough, but depending on your opener it can be fiddly to get working. In order to set a button you have to put it in pair mode, then press the button a number of times to tell it which brand/frequency to use. There is a table in the instruction pamphlet that lays out the different combinations. For my genie opener, the process was easy and straightforward. For my chamberlain opener it took some trial and error to figure out the correct version, and when I found the correct one, it took 19 button presses to set the mode. I had to retry like 10-15 times before I could get it paired correctly. It works well once programmed, but I worry I'll to have repair once the coincell batter dies. The only other critique is the metal clip to mount on the visor is cheap and small, so instead of clipping snuggly to the visor it's instead kind of bent and sticking out. For what it is and how cheap it is, I'm plenty happy, but this isn't a super high quality product. ... show more

  • Finally a Garage door opener that works!
Style: Remote for Learn Button & Dip Switch...
I got this one because my current garage door opener uses the number switches to work and this one was on a pretty good discount. The set up was a little tricky because I didn't read the manual (I know, I know, user error) but it basically says depending on your device when it's on pairing mode you have to press clicker a lot to pair it fully. I think I pressed it like 10-15 times then it just started working. Definitely works further than my original remote does and it's a good enough deal that I don't feel as bad when I lost one and just bought another pack. Overall pretty happy ... show more

  • Worked good for dip switch gate + learned garage
Style: Remote for Learn Button & Dip Switch...
Needed new remote that could do both our neighborhood gate (chamberlain ten dip switch) as well as our homes garage door (chamberlain learn type). Worked great for both. For gate I had to click button 12 times to pair, and for garage was 8 times. Each automatically performed when I reached the correct amount of clicks, then only needed a final click to exit pairing mode and wall-ah, worked for both. Haven’t tested range, but having DIP + Learn was most important. ... show more

  • DOESN'T WORK? START HERE!
Style: Remote for Learn Button & Dip Switch...
It's frustrating to buy a universal garage remote that doesn't work. Luckily, I found directions on another product review. VOILA! 2 buttons - 2 different manufactures. Worked like magic. If the enclosed directions don't work for you, try these. Basically, the remote needs to be prepared first before pairing with the garage opener. These directions worked for 2 old garage openers: a Genie/Overhead & a Chamberlain/Liftmaster (red). 1. Remove the battery cover from the remote. Press and hold the black program button until the blue LED light on the remote comes ON and remains steady. 2. Select which of the remote's outside buttons you want to program to open your door. Press and release that button XX times (see manufacturer's directions, per your brand), making sure the LED light stops flashing between each press. 3. Press and hold the black program button inside the remote once again. The blue LED light on the remote should now turn OFF. 4. Go to your garage door opener. Press and release the garage door opener LEARN button. The LED light should flash continuously to indicate it's in the learn function. 5. Press the selected button on your remote control XX times (again, see manufacturer's directions, per your brand). Your garage door opener should then activate, if the programming was successful. For my Genie garage door opener, I had to press my remote 6 times. But for my Chamberlain garage door opener, I only needed to press the remote 2 times. Hope this helps! ... show more
