I was looking for a cable system to add to my home gym but it was difficult finding something that wasn't thousands of dollars and took up a ton of space. I came across this one and figured I would give it a try. After taking some time to use it, I like most aspects of it. The weight resistance level
s are great and enough for what I need it for. The battery has a pretty good life and will easily last over several workouts. The included atatchments work well and are comfortable to use. My biggest issue with this is the connectivity. I reached out to the customer service in regards to adding the device to a second user's phone (my wife would also like to be able to use it). As of now, it connects to my phone and has to be adjusted via bluetooth from the app. Per customer support, it cannot be added to a second device which means my wife cannot ever use it when I am not around. This is, in my opinion, a severely limiting factor that has been my main reason for holding back on buying a second one and going all in on these units as my cable system. I am thinking of trying to just connect it to an old iPad and using that as the remote instead. I think having some physical buttons on it to be able to adjust the weight from the device directly would be useful. Overall, it is a very good device so far, I just need to play around with the connectivity some more to see if it will work out long term.

Nice at home workout machine! It's lightweight and easy to take on the go with you, plus doesn't take up too much space. It's easy to get started and use, just charge the unit and download the app to your phone. The app let's you adjust the weight up to 44lbs and restarts the unit if needed. It comes
with several attachments you can use, and I even bought a bar to use with it so we can lift with both arms and not just one. It works great and you can really feel the resistance and the burn. My hubby and I use it all the time, even my son has started to use it as well. Great to use for a quick lift. So far so good, we haven't had any issues with it. It is pretty expensive though, I think the price is too much for the unit. Overall satisfied, works well but need to drop that price down some.

Support and Accessibility Issues

Seems like a great idea, but needs some more baking time, I think. You can't fully access it without an app. There are a lot of attachments, but the device is not inherently stable. It's nice that you can set it at various heights, angles and with various resistance and modes, but maybe it's a little
too ambitious. It's a bit like eating cereal with a Swiss Army knife. It's great that you can do it, but there are more time tested options that get the job done.

Not A Gimmick or A Gadget - A Truly Innovative Home Gym Product For "Normies"

I've never been a big "go to the gym" guy. I've always played sports competitively, but I absolutely HATE weight training. It wasn't until I had to rehab an elbow injury that I began to see the value in at least modest weight training. But, not wanting to end up on someones "gym fails" video online,
I don't really want to learn the machinery in a public setting. This little device is BRILLIANT. First off, it actually WORKS. I've always been worried about the flexible bands snapping and hitting me or breaking something, so the fact that this works with steel cables and a motor gives me a lot more confidence in that regard. Secondly, did I mention it actually WORKS? You dial in the resistance on the app and it provides the necessary resistance on the way out and the way back. One important note: This isn't ideal for very slow, recovery style exercises like the ones I'm doing for rehab. There are very subtle, slow movements that the doctor recommended that are simply too subtle for a machine like this. The motor is best when being extracted and retracted at a normal pace. It's not for something like isometrics or rehab work. For those, you're better off with the elastic bands or light dumbbells. But, for newbie strength training, I'd say this is a genuine innovation. The only limitation is that you can only work one side at a time. If you want to do simultaneous arm curls, you'd need a second unit and that could get expensive. For what it is, however, it is truly truly amazing.

kes it easy to use this box anywhere. I have used this on my work out bench, living room using my feet to hold the anchor strap, my backyard, anywhere you can place the anchors and you are set. There is door anchor that is placed between the door and the door frame too that helps in that versatility and a strap anchor to be held by your feet or wrapped around a sturdy furniture leg or the like. You can use this with or without the AP. BUT you REALLY NEED THE AP to get the most use of this kit. Without the AP you are just wasting your money, just use the AP it is FREE (i.e. "included" with the box, you just need to download it). The AP is what makes this work out kit ROCK! With the AP > - You can free style your own work out and adjust the "weight" (resistances) from about 4lbs up to 44lbs. - Select a work out zone (upper body, Abs, butt, legs) under "plan" from beginner to advance, a 7 day weight lost program, and you can create custom work out plans too. It has a video showing how to perform the each exercise. - There is a door and a strap anchor included along with a comfortable ankle strap and a pull strap. All good quality and strong straps. Easy to hook them up and switch them out as needed. - The resistances is spot on, I have been using this working a different zone each day (allowing the worked out zone to recoup and rest at least a day) and my muscles are feeling it. The work outs are simple and short (about 20 minutes) to get you started. You can lengthen the work out as you need. - the AP makes working out motivating and fun. Even my 8 year old daughter is jumping into the fun, which brings up the next cool thing.... -The resistance is pre-set per each work out program and exercise, so as you get tired the resistance does not get easier. BUT you can CHANGE the workout level resistance level before you begin. So if work out is too hard or easy just select level and adjust the percentage, so harder for me and easier for my 8 year old but still a good work out for both of us. The AP will remember your last setting. - The video will automatically stop/pause and start with your work out. If you take too long to start the next exercise the video will pause, to restart just pull the cord or push play on the AP and the video and counting will continue. - You can skip or replay an exercise if needed by scrolling and then selecting the next exercise on the work out menu. - Don't want a full work out plan then you can customize your own work out actions from the custom plan tab under the Plan menu. Select an action and then you can edit the action adding weight and/or reps. - The AP will count you reps! No more lost counts or need to count. Overall I would give this 10 stars if possible I am loving this kit! This is a must for anyone wanting to get a good work out. And specially for someone like me that needs a some motivation and simple and effective time efficient work outs. Highly recommend!!! And if you are still not sure, you can always download the AP before you buy this box to see the possibility.

Amazing and innovative piece of home/portable gym equipment.

In my work as a health and fitness professional, I have to be familiar with all things exercise/training/rehab includ
ing equipment. This device is impressive. After using it for a couple weeks, I can tell that a *lot* of thought went into this thing. First off, this device fills a similar niche to portable cable systems like the Ancore, but instead of relying on spring packs that have to be mounted to a rail or post, or bands with imprecise resistance levels, this device uses a simple strap to mount almost anywhere and magnetic resistance to provide different types and levels of resistance. Almost anything you can do with a cable or band, you can do with this, and a little more... To do that, it requires electrical power and an app for control. These limitations are handled very well in this case. The battery life is consistent with the listed cycles per resistance level in the description above. It charges fairly quickly and holds charge when off, and even includes a setting that allows you to *recharge the device by using it* like those dynamo flashlights. Insanely convenient. The app is pretty unobtrusive once connected to the device. It allows for easy and quick adjustment of resistance levels, monitoring battery levels, and adjusting resistance types. The modes are really cool. -Standard mode has the same resistance in and out, similar to using a regular cable machine. -Concentric mode has more resistance on the pull of the cable, less as the cable retracts, similar to a rowing erg. You can adjust up to 50% difference. -Eccentric mode has less resistance on the pull of the cable, and more as the cable retracts, like doing negatives. Again you can adjust up to 50% difference. -Constant mode ... still not sure what it's doing. -Chain mode allows for accommodating resistance, where the further you pull the cable the more resistance you get, simulating chains getting heavier as more chain is lifted off the floor, or the resistance of a band increasing as it stretches. Again, you can adjust parameters. -Generation mode is similar to concentric mode in that you're mainly doing work on the pull, but it can use your energy to recharge the device somewhat. Which is really freaking cool. The resistance is limited to 20kg/44lbs which limits its application somewhat. I'm not going to be able to use this for max effort powerlifts, obviously, but cable/band assistance work absolutely. I could also strap it to my barbell and use it for accommodating resistance like one would use bands or chains. I verified the resistance level at various settings and it was accurate within 1kg according to my dynamometer. An example of thoughtful design: Using a thin strap instead of a round cable, which is mounted above the center of mass in the device. The strap keeps winding inside the device consistent, and the imbalanced mount keeps the unit from spinning and twisting up the strap, both reducing jamming up of the mechanism. Small thing you wouldn't likely notice, but goes a long way in improving usability. The hardware is small, emphasizing the lighter/less explosive use cases it's designed for, so don't go at it like an invincible heavy duty piece of equipment, because it's not. An extension strap and 2 mounting straps are included, along with an ankle strap and cable handle, which should cover most use cases. Get two and you have a pretty decent and very portable cable crossover setup. The app includes a bunch of reference exercises and activities if you need them, so if you need ideas on how to train or use the device, it'll guide you through that as well. Overall, highly recommend this piece for home/portable gym setups where a full cable crossover rig doesn't fit and bands don't quite cut it.

There is also a charge mod which is similar to the concentric mode except you generate electricity to charge the battery as you use it. The app interacts with it well in real-time. I'm very impressed with this technology.

Decent But Way Overpriced

The pulling motion is not always super smooth and you may get a "hiccup" as you extend the rope. Using two units is almost a must if you want a better workout but I definitely won't be

I just started using it today after charging the battery. What we have is a device that allows you to change the force needed to pull on a strap coming out of a cube shaped auto tension device . It controlled by an app on your cell phone that allows you to change the force needed to pull on the cord.
It’s essentially an electronic version of a rubber band exercise system but instead of rubber bands I think it’s causing the resistance with a flywheel and magnetism, at least that’s my guess. The software keeps track of what you’re doing and hopefully I’ll stick to and see some positive results. I had to figure out what had to be done on my own as I found following the directions to be a bit difficult mainly the print is like what a lawyer puts in a contract they don’t want you to read I wish they had a larger font so it could be readable by someone f who needs glasses. The software is pretty much easy to figure out I haven’t yet figured out how all the attachments are to be used when I can find my magnifying glass I’ll work on it. So for today I was doing arm curls by tying one end of the cube to my foot as an anchor and attaching an included handgrip to the other side of cube. I feel that as I figure out how to exercise different muscles this will be an effective method of home exercise for me and I’m hopeful of good results. One plus it comes with a carry sack so the system can easily be taken with you when traveling so you won’t miss out on your exercise program.

If you use cable machines at the gym, this is the product for you! You really do need 2 though.

This is an extremely interesting product. At its core, this is a cable machine in a small, easy to setup box. It functions very effectively and is easy to adjust using the app. Keep in mind that the weight maxes out at 20 kgs (44 lbs), so depending on the exercise, it may not suffice. Usage is simple
, find an anchor point like a door, and use the door stopper to anchor the product. Alternatively, you can use the loop strap as an anchor point. The app is also easy to use. I use an iPhone and had no issues downloading the app from the app store. Once there, the syncing of the devices is easy and adjustment is as easy as moving a slider. My only real complaint is that you need two of these to really perform some of the more interesting cable exercises. Of course, you can do these one side at a time, but that takes twice the amount of time. The cost of the product is pretty high, especially if you need two. With that being said, this product is very innovative and easy to move. I would recommend it and have enjoyed it greatly!

There is a lot to unpack here. But overall, this is a very well designed and thought our product. It can basically serve as your home gym when your away. This device is powered by battery that uses magnetism to be able to alter the resistance levels. It goes up to 44 pounds, which is pretty much good
enough for any person who wants to tone. For building, you’re going to have to go to higher weights outside of its product. But for a portable home gym, this is a real winner. The app is a real treasure here. Install and use it. It’s really helpful in giving you numerous exercises and resistance levels for your upper or lower body. Health is priceless and I think the price point is OK. I don’t consider it too high at all. There are a lot of products out there like this, but this may be a winner. Do your research and figure out yourself. Give it a try.

A very unique, usable, and portable exercise machine

It feels like the resistance is very even all the way through and you don't get the "drop off" at the ends. This won't replace all the equipment in my garage gym, but it is an excellent addition to it. And, being relatively small, you can take it with you when you travel, and not miss your workouts. 5 stars. A unique exercise device that works extremely well.

Well made programmable cable system

The Unitree Pump Pro arrived, on time, well packaged and defect free. This is the second unit that I have purchased, and wanted the flexibility of having one for each arm/leg instead of only using one for both. I have been very satisfied with the first one, so buying the second one was not an issue.
The unit utilizes an app to display/monitor/control the unit. Through the app, you set the resistance. The app also provides instruction and other interesting features. Although it can be used as your primary cable machine in your home gym, since I have a cable machine in my basement gym, I use this system when I am in my home office. I try to get up from the computer every half hour or so, and do some brief exercises apart from my normal workout routine. The max resistance is 44 pounds, which is sufficient for traditional arm/leg resistance. Battery life is very good. Under heavy use, the unit does get warm, and will shut down if temperatures exceed ratings. That has only happened to me once, and now know that when operating at full resistance, to take a break if unit gets too warm. Overall, a great device.
