I received the Pump several days ago, and had my first workout this morning. I will update this review in the future should anything change. So far, I really like the Pump. I had no issue pairing to or controlling it from my phone. The firmware update was a little tricky to figure out, until I scrolled down and saw the update button. The max resistance is about 44 lbs. My crane scale measured 40 lbs, but it's not precise. While this is underpowered for some people/exercises, it's easy to stack a resistance band on it to increase the lbs. And you can stack units together. Let's face it, very few people are using the max resistance on Tonal for any exercise, much less all exercises. So here you can buy as much resistance (as many units) as you need instead of paying for resistance you'll never use. In addition, I connected it to my Mutt Bar centered with a loop tie strap and it not only worked great but allowed for bilateral movements with just one Pump. The battery takes awhile to charge fully from zero - maybe 1.5 to 2 hours. I did about 100 reps this morning at 30-44 lbs, and the battery depleted from 100% to 80%. So it will never conk out on you during a workout unless you start with a low battery. The thing I like best are the modes. In particular the eccentric mode. We are stronger lowering than we are lifting. Studies show eccentric overload training (less up, more down) is key to burning your fast and slow twitch muscle fibers. Here, you select the eccentric load in lbs up to 44, and the concentric reduction in % up to 50%. So 44/50% means 22 up, 44 down. 44/25% means 33 up/44 down. 30/20% means 24 up, 30 down. So this morning, I used the 44/50% eccentric setting stacked with a 20 lb resistance band. So it was 42 up, 64 down. It worked perfectly. The Pump senses when you pause to change directions, and immediately either lightens the load (at the bottom as you start the positive) or increases the load (at the top when you start the negative). Other modes include standard (same up/down), concentric (more up, less down) and chains (increasing on the way up, decreasing on the way down - like a resistance band). In all modes, the resistance itself was very smooth - not jerky at all. The machine makes noise, but I would not call it "noisy." Overall, I am very impressed so far. ... show more

I've been lifting at gyms for over 15 years. I've been interested in digital weight for awhile but I travel a lot for work and didn't want to install anything in my apartment. I was a bit hesitant in buying this, as it seemed kind of gimmicky, but I have to say I'm very impressed with this thing, especially for it being a 1st gen product. The max weight on it (44 lbs) really feels like that, and maybe a little bit more. Very difficult to bicep curl the max weight on this. It provides very smooth movements, very similar to a cable machine. It's perfect for concentration exercises like bicep curls, tricep extensions, lateral raises, military presses, etc. I find the weight for movements that you can usually go heavy on, like rows, to be a bit lacking. But I could see getting two of these units and being good on that. The app works good and I haven't encountered any software issues. Doesn't replace a gym, but I definitely see this as a complement when you can't get to the gym or just want to knock out some quick "pumps". Only negative I see, is the clip that you attach the handle to is a bit flimsy. Maybe they'll fix that in the next version. But overall, this is a great product. I bought two of these. Overall they are fantastic. The resistance/weight is extremely smooth but tough. Having two means 20kg per side for exercises such as curls/lateral raises is actually More than enough (for me). The multiple training modes allows it to also feel more than 20 at times. I have used these alongside my bio force home gym to change things up/add variety to training and I am glad I did. Downsides for me is that I don’t like things that rely solely on an app to function. Also one of mine the battery seems to drain a little faster than the other even though both purchased together/charged together. I am still tempted to buy a couple more as they are so useful. ... show more

This is the Third Unitree Pump that I bought. It came with a shorter string with a carabiner and the twist lock attachment to the pump something they sell with the suction cup and not listed on the box “what’s in the box” inventory. Why did I not get this with the other two pumps I bought. I see pictures of other peoples reviews and seems like they got this extra shorter string carabiner and other end has the twist lock knob (not the extension string) why?? Not listed on box but only one of my pumps got this attachment accessory ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Comes with a bunch of belts with no labeling on them. Hard to figure out how to exercise. Need a sticker or sew design on each of the belt [ equipment attach to the pump ] showing what each belts is for would be elegant and stylish.
