I just got this in yesterday! It was very easy to assemble, it took me approximately an hour to, maybe, an hour and a half to finish it. It might go a bit faster with 2 people, but it was still really simple! This is a sturdy kennel, I'm impressed. I will say, my baby girl, Idun, is a very good girl! She is gentle and doesn't chew things she shouldn't. Honestly the cats are more destructive than she ever has been, even in her puppy stage. I say all this because if you do have a destructive, rowdy dog, this may not be the best choice. As far as size, it's looks are deceiving, it looks smaller than it actually is. Idun is an 80 lbs boxer/pit mix (she should be 70 lbs, but thyroid issues made her a bit fluffy) and can easily stretch out without touching the longest length (which is 52"). Her usual rectangular kennel is a medium size (around 42"×27" I think). While that was enough room for her to comfortably sleep, I think this one is much better. She seemed much more well rested this morning and actually wants to spend time in her new digs! I was pleasantly surprised by the sleep pad that comes with it. I fully anticipated having to buy additional padding to make sure she comfortable, but it seems to be unnecessary. The foam is only 2" deep, but it's made our of high density memory foam. I actually say on it the entire time I assembled the kennel and can confidently say it's comfy! I don't think I'll need to buy anything additional except maybe a bolster or 2 (that's only because Idun likes to prop her head up on them). I would be hard pressed to find a negative with this kennel. I guess if you held my feet to the flames I'd say that up close--like REALLY up close-- the finish looks obviously fake, but that's only really close inspection. From even 3 feet away it looks great! Recently purchased a tiny home and we needed something both functional for the dogs and us. This works as a PERFECT side table and dog crate without being an eye sore. Had this in my cart for a long time and wish I had bought It sooner. I loved this crate and the way it just fit perfectly in our corner. It looks amazing and my husky shepherd loves it! He goes in it during the day when he relaxes and his anxiety crate free was terrible. This I would recommend to everyone.

It is definitely cute and functional if your dog is calm in the crate but if they have even an ounce of separation anxiety or your dog is a super chewer it's not worth it. The wood is cheap and flimsy and they will chew through it and peel the metal up.

This by far was the easiest to assemble of any purchase I have made in this dog world. I have purchased at least 8 items from Amazon for my dogs and this was a snap to put together. The front came assembled which was huge plus (so hinges to assemble). On the sturdiness the side panels are very thin plywood, however I don't think that will be an issue.
