  • Just works well and this is all we need for fast transfer and storage
Capacity: 10TB
I'm really into it—it's a quiet drive with super fast data transfer. It's just the right size, so it doesn't hog too much space on my table. Getting started was a breeze—plug and play, and everything I need is right there. I'll have to wait and see how long it holds up, but for now, it's exactly what I wanted. I keep it plugged into my TV all the time, loaded with hundreds of movies (and I'm adding more all the time since space isn't a problem anymore). It's like having a much better version of Netflix. If you deal with tons of video files and need loads of storage, this is definitely worth the money. It's a bit bulky to carry around, but it stores way more than the three portable hard drives I used to use, and there's still plenty of room left. It was a smart buy—I'm totally happy with it. ... show more

  • Sleek HDD with fast processing speeds
Capacity: 10TB
Needed an upgrade and backup from my previous Seagate 1TB SSD and thought the Unionsine external hard drive was a better deal with even more storage. Cloud storage was another option but over time, the cost outweighs the convienece. The external hard drive is USB C compatible, and I was able to create a copy of all my files before transfering them over to the HDD. The process was seamless, and I did not notice any lagging. The device is compact and fits neatly on my already crowded computer desk. I purchased a protective case to extend the life of my HDD when not in use. ... show more

  • UnionSine 8TB External Hard Drive Failed Within 3 Months - Lost Hundreds of Hours of Work
To give you guys an idea of what a working hard drive means to me, I am a YouTuber with ~100k subscribers. It's like a mini-business, with a fair amount of cash earned from YouTube partnership. As a result, I need a good amount of extra storage space and substantial reliability, though I also need a good price. I thought I found the perfect combination of all of those things with the UnionSine 8TB External Hard Drive. While it worked decently enough at first, though was so noisy that even non-tech-savvy people noticed and thought there may be an issue with it, I was assured by the directions including in with the hard drive that such loud noise was supposed to happen. For three months, I was able to stream data with no issues straight to the hard drive at a high rate, sometimes capturing hours of 2K quality footage in a single day. Then, right when I was about to release arguably my biggest video in months, the hard drive failed. I went to sleep right after I finished the video with the idea that I could just upload it in the morning, but I could not have been more wrong. I turned my computer and external hard drive on, and it sounded substantially different than normal, as though it is no longer turning. It even made my computer turn on and shut off SUBSTANTIALLY slower, which is noticeable as I have an SSD that I use for my OS. It was giving my computer such fits that my computer wouldn't shut off until I removed the USB plug from it that was attached to the UnionSine external hard drive on the other end. Turning on my computer took approximately 10x as long as normal. I tested it to see if it was the failed UnionSine hard drive that was giving it fits, so I booted and shut off my computer WITHOUT the UnionSine external hard drive connected, and it turned on and shut off as normal. In short, I absolutely DEPEND on a quality hard drive that works and can store a good amount of data. This hard drive failed when I needed it most, and I hardly had 25% of the hard drive filled with data. I was probably hovering around 6TB free when it failed, which, along with how quickly it took for this to fail, is incredibly shocking. Meanwhile, I have an EXCELLENT 5TB Western Digital Black external hard drive that is over a year older than the UnionSine, and it still works like clockwork, and I have NEVER had an issue with it, or another, smaller version of that same WD Black external hard drive that I purchased years before that. Worse yet, I don't even move the UnionSine external hard drive, it stays in the same spot as it has since I first operated it. I would recommend ANYONE that needs to have reliable storage stay away from UnionSine. Mechanical hard drive technology is DECADES OLD, and has NO EXCUSE for breaking within months of usage, especially within so much free space still left on it. Avoid this brand like the plague, and go for a more reputable brand, like Western Digital or Seagate. ... show more

  • Good price, Solid. But noisy.
Capacity: 16TB
This drive arrived quickly and looks to be solid and well made. Because it’s a USB 3.1+ It’s quite fast, especially if you connect it with the provided USB-C cable (it comes with both a USB-C to USB-C AND a USB-A to USB-C cable. The connection on the drive itself is a USB-C female.). My only complaint is that it’s a bit noisy. Whenever I’m shifting files or downloading directly to it, the drive can be heard quite clearly. It’s the first HD that ivenoticed it on (I have several WD and other drives. I’ve never heard them working except if I listen up close). The price is good, tho not so much that it is worth the difference for a well-established brand like WD (Western Digital). Note: this is the largest capacity drive I now own (16TB), so it’s possible that it’s the nature of such a big drive to be noisier. I’ll let you know when I have something to compare with. ... show more

  • Easy to use and no problems
Capacity: 18TB
I needed a large hard drive so I could transfer all my smaller drives onto one big one, have all my files in the same place, and dispose of the other drives, so I would not have so much to carry around. Being a traveler it is important to not be weighed down, and I liked the convenience. I chose this product, a UnionSine 18TB 3.5" External Hard Drive, as it was reasonably priced and the largest I could find. The package arrived earlier than expected. The product was easy to set up and use, and like others have mentioned I noticed no unduly high noise level at the start up. Once up and running I started transferring data over to it, and so far it has worked fine, with no complications. If I had the choice I would probably buy the same again, yet with a drive this size, I should not need it for a long time yet. ... show more

  • Media Storage for an Affordable Price
Capacity: 10TB
This drive is plugged into my media server and doing its job perfectly. Storing media data so that it can be streamed or accessed on demand. I have had no hiccups or issues and I am running it right next to more expensive bigger name drivers and from the end user perspective - there is no discernible difference. In reality though this drive is much cheaper than the big boys. The case is nicely designed, the drive itself is quiet, and it uses a generic USB-C connector to connect to my computer which i prefer to some of more random connectors that some drives use. Long term durability is yet to be determined, and I will update this review if there are any issues but as of right now - this drive is a winner. ... show more
