Easy to use at home or in the vehicle. Use good Ni-Mh batteries and you’ll be fine. The cord for the car is a mess (with the power adapter bottom, antenna link, and charger adapter), but I only use it to charge the batteries in the radio at night with an AC to DC converter (I wish they would have included an AC charging adapter…), but the quality seems good and with some thought, these drawbacks can be managed. ... show more

A nicely designed and versatile system with multiple connectivity choices. As a handheld CB it’s about average in range & audio quality. I found it odd that the FM feature still seems to receive on other radios just as a.m.. The selection of battery packs is great and the battery eliminator is a nice option for vehicle or base use. Compared to other 4-watt handhelds radios the range is only fair. Compared to FRS or even 4-watt GMRS, with the supplied antenna, the range is less…typical of other handheld CB”s. ... show more

I bought this thinking I wanted an Am/FM CB for my truck, but didn't want to install an antenna. I thought a portable would not be great, but it would be good enough for what I need....NOT. I drove 400 miles on interstate, and didn't once get a reception. Tried several times to "radio check" and nothing. This was below even my expectations. It has a connection for a real antenna, and maybe that would have worked, but if you are going to install a real antenna, then why would you want a portable? You way as well install a high-quality CB for less money. ... show more

Have only had this thing 6 months and I didn't realize it has NOT been receiving for quite some time. I thought the operators I was talking to were just not responding. People can hear me, but nothing comes in. Do not recommend.
