I don't know about the noise that some people were complaining about here. This little pump works great!!! NO noise!!! And for now, it is sitting on top of my toaster over next to the tank, which is tinny metal, and when I use that, I put this pump right on top of the tank's cover. Pump should ALWAYS be at or above water level so you don't get backflow. I do NOT use those 'backflow valves' that come with these pumps now, dumb idea, all they do is restrict air pump's output flow, eventually weakens pump performance. I do careful 'the old fashioned way': I curl the tubing and put it through the loops, and as mentioned before, make sure the pump is at, or above, the water level of your tank. That being noted, I usedthis pump in a ten gallon high tank, to use a bottom filter. Lots of bubbles!!! Happy fishes!!! I've been keeping fish, turtles, frogs, and snakes for 60 years! This pump is better priced than some and setting it up is very simple! Works fine.. I believe the minnows I will use as bait will live a long while with this pump! Also, this pump makes ZERO noise.. only vibrates which has no noise! Thumbs up!

It’s not crazy strong but it’s quiet and consistently running. Air flow stay steady, compact design, so it doesn’t take up a lot of room because of its size. I have a 20 gallon tank and it delivers enough air for a stone and a little treasure chest decoration. Seems to put a lot of air bubbles into the water, and the rubber feet keep it pretty quiet as it sits - no louder than any of the other equipment. The media could not be loaded. I'm running this air pump kit in my 29 gallon aquarium. This pump is incredibly quiet! It is also very powerful. I attached a video here of it powering two airstones. The first is included in this kit and the other was purchased here on Amazon. My only complaint is that the tubing is a little short to use on two airstones, so I've had to keep the pump on top of the tank, but I don't mind that as it gives me easy access. Overall, this is an amazing value! To purchase all these items together, it would have cost me well over twenty dollars. An airstone alone costs about $5 dollars at Petco, and this one included two! Edit: After nearly a year of use, the ayirstone and tubing is still going strong. My only complaint is that both of the check valves have broken off. However, I think this is due to me frequently removing and replacing the tubing during water changes. Still a great value for a year of use, but good thing to be aware of. ... show more

This is a very good quality air pump. It pumps air to stones and filters just fine and even has two outlets for your convenience. The pump is adjustable so you can set your air flow to however you prefer and it doesn’t make a bunch of noise either. The only nitpick I could find is that the outlets will make extra noise if they’re not being but you can easily fix that by just putting a bit of hose on it and it’s just as silent. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The first three months it was amazing, super quiet and efficient, but suddenly it started with a very loud noise, i don’t know what happened. My house is kinda quiet and that noise stands out above everything. It is still efficient but very noisy now.
