  • Great support belt for the money!
Size: L/XL
I was looking for a replacement to my current support belt, as it was getting worn out. I had a hernia surgery about 5 months ago. Although no longer required, I choose to continue to wear a belt for added security, as I do occasional lifting in my job. This one seemed to be a good option. The belt came in a lightweight zipper case, and included two cushion pads. I don't know much about these, but this belt seemed to be made well, and I think better than the original hospital provided one. I was right between the size recommendations, so I went with the larger belt. There was plenty extra length to give a good overlap, which I prefer. Based on this one (large), the smaller size probably would have worked/fit fine, but I didn't want to chance having to return for larger size. I prefer having the extra overlap The belt holds secure all day with no discomfort. Initially, I did have to slightly adjust the belt upward on my stomach as there was a slight rubbing right at my pelvis. I try to account for that each time I wear it, but it's an easy adjustment to reposition if needed. I rarely use the extra cushion pads, but have attached one over the old surgery area when I knew I was going to be doing some extra lifting. Again, just for peace of mind. While not a doctor, this belt should be great for anyone susceptible to a hernia injury at any stage. I can't say it will prevent one, but I like the support for lifting medium-heavy loads. I find no faults with this belt. Compared to others I've seen on Amazon, this one is reasonably priced, and actually, one of the lower priced options. I give the Pauline brand Umbilical Hernia Belt a thumbs up. I can't say it is perfect, but it is definitely a nice support belt for the money. Maybe not a full 5 stars, but it wouldn't be fair to give this 4. ... show more

  • Comfortable and supportive
Size: L/XL
This is much like other abdominal binder belts I've used after surgery; the difference is that this includes a couple pads which may be used to apply directed pressure over a hernia site. Although belts like this are intended to be able to be worn against the skin, I prefer to wear the binder over an undershirt, but hidden beneath a button-up shirt or pullover. If you do wear it lower, towards where you bend near the waist, then it does develop a little extra stretch and "roll up" along the bottom edge. I got this because although I had been using a binder when I engaged in outdoors activity after surgery, I was worried that I was developing a hernia. As it turns out, that was a false alarm, and I am grateful that it wasn't a hernia after all, so I don't require the specific remedy that these cushions are intended to provide. However, the belt works exactly as advertised, is comfortable, and easy to use. I was surprised at the size of the pads; I was not expecting them to be as thick as they are, but I'm sure that's appropriate for their expected purpose. ... show more

  • perfect fit
Size: L/XL
I've had a hernia for a while and it's been a real pain. My doctor gave me a hernia belt, but the problem was that it was too big. It was uncomfortable, covered my entire abdomen, and was a total nuisance. So I searched high and low for something better. Then I found the Umbilical Hernia Belt with 2x Compression Pads, Abdominal Support Binder. It comes with two compression pads of different sizes. This is a much better belt because I can customize the level of compression and focus it directly on the hernia. Also, the belt covers the exact area I need it to. Overall, this is a great band and is more comfortable than the first one I had. However, the larger pad is a little large and places too much pressure on my hernia. I would recommend this belt to anyone who needs abdominal support, including people who need to wear it after surgery. It's a great product at an affordable price. ... show more

  • Don't oversize
Size: L/XL
Although initially it was requested by my husband that I get him an extra extra large, we ended up going with the large given the size guide. He wears a 34 inch waist jeans. It fit him snugly, comfortably, and helped really of pain and reduce swelling. Overall, I do believe that if we had gotten allergic size it would not have been as effective. When in doubt size down ... show more

  • Good support even without the compression pads
Size: L/XL
I ordered this to support my umbilical hernia (caused by multiple abdominal surgeries). I often feel it stretching if I'm carrying heavy items or doing a lot of bending/lifting. I haven't used the compression pads, but the belt is great. I've also used it recently for my low back to help strap some heat pads to my lower spine. This belt over the top of the heat pad allows for better contact and consistent pressure than the velcro straps attached to the heat pad. ... show more

  • Supportive belt
Size: S/M
Great supportive and adjustable binder. It’s perfect for a little extra support after abdominal surgery too, as a shorter version of the typical hospital abdominal binders. It’s very stretchy, but doesn’t roll down thanks to the sewn in stays. The sizing is accurate or even a bit large. I ordered the S/M size with a 30” waist and had enough extra length to adjust as needed. It’s easy to put on and remove. The Velcro holds the belt tight and doesn’t come loose easily. This is a quality made, supportive belt at a reasonable price. ... show more

  • Comfy & supportive!
Size: S/M
This is actually quite a slim belt, which is a real plus because it can be worn under your clothes, without being super obvious & bulky. It's actually quite comfortable, given that it is still a supportive brace. I don't have a hernia but got it to ease pains in my back, when doing heavy projects or when doing excessive bending & this belt is much better than some of the bulkier ones I've tried. I would recommend trying it but do pay attention to the sizing, so you get the best fit! ... show more
