  • Nice unit. Size and responsive.
Style: UM690(Barebone)
Purchased, the barebone version. Unit design and price are great. The few issues I ran into, was it doesn’t seem to support 2*32 memory 64GB dd5-5600 dim kits. Which hopefully the model up from this seems to support. The other thing that is disappointing is that If they are going for performance and gaming entry product to a degree they systems haven’t been well test for upgrades and such. It would be nice to have that information up front regarding memory upgrade specs and other upgrades that user may consider at time of purchase, or down the road when they want to upgrade. Also the audio driver under windows are not reliable. Ran into issue with headphones not getting any sound from the machine audio jack. However plugging into monitor which goes over HDMI they work. Adding a usb sound card: headphone works. Under Linux the audio jack works. However windows 11 pro and clean new install setup. Some reason can’t get sound from my times tested apple/iPhone headphones. Which brings me to AMD and their drivers being an issue. Which am not sure whom to address to help with the issue. Cause from their website they just point the user to AMD. Over all AMD drivers seem to be buggy, even something as simple as open KJ karaoke software the singer window makes flashes and has re-draw issues, or blanks out. Which leads me to believe there is a sync and re-fresh/draw issue in the way it handles certain aspects of video libraries. ... show more

  • As of Jan 3, 2022, DEAD (NO VIDEO OUTPUT)
Style: UM350(16+512G)
THIS IS NOW DEAD AS OF JAN 3, 2022. At less than 2 full years of purchasing. The fan noise was getting excessive about a month ago, and started using it with either the lid popped or completely off. In a small room with an air purifier going off, it was louder than that at the lowest setting on the air purifier. Yesterday, it simply stopped outputting any video. Not going to try to check Display port or anything at this point. It was great when it was going. My old AMD SSF computer lasted at least 10 years than this (the HDD gave out first). First and last mini computer I ever buy....disappointing it never made it 2 years. OLD REVIEW: I was needing to replace an old SFF Lenovo computer that I was using as a HTPC....Was wanting one with a dedicated graphics card in which I was in the process to build, but obviously miners and PC GPU makers have different ideas.... Was going to go mini pc, but a whole lot of them were never up to par with that I was doing (Minor gaming at either 1080 with ability to upgrade to 4k later, some audio and picture editing using Audacity and Paint.net, using Kodi for media, and basic web browsing). So when this went on sale, and I immediately jumped on it (I paid extra for next day delivery, which equaled to the original amount, so definitely worth it in the end). This was particularly well worth the deal price for the 16gigs of RAM and the 512gb storage, which is at a premium (might eventually change out/add later). I'm not trying to stress this out, but this stays on for 24 hours of the day unless I need to restart, but this has worked well for the last 72 hours since I've received this. **EDIT: after2 weeks, I did notice when I'd leave for work in the morning, I do see that it shuts itself off when I come home after an 8 hour day. Not a big deal as I only use this for videos for the moment, so it's good to know that it does this (don't know if this is by default, as I thought I did adjust it in the power settings in Windows, but definitely not a deal breaker.) UPDATE TO THIS UPDATE - I have now disabled the PW and Go to hibernate when I hit the power button. so when I turn on my TV after hitting the power button on the machine when I get home from a day of work, it's instant and no PW needed to enter every time I restart or wake from hibernate. Just goes to desktop.** Since I don't have a 4k TV, I can't comment on the files that are playing (using VLC...can't recommend this prog enough for ALL my media/videos). 1080p videos ripped from DVD's I own work flawlessly. Was worried about the Radeon Vega 8, but it didn't miss a beat. Audio via HDMI also worked without any hiccup. Was also pleasantly surprised by bluetooth, as I connected my ATH-M50XBT and have no issues (no lag whatsoever, and aptX supported unlike the M50XBT2). Can't wait to upgrade to a 4K TV (non-smart TV cuz the interfaces for network connected TV's for the most part are terrible). 16g of ram was very much welcomed (old computer is/was 8 gigs max when trying to run Kodi, Chrome, Audacity, and Paint.net at the same time... I know... but anyway). Again, I'm not trying to push this to it's limit, but it's good to know that I can do all these without any issues. Also in the process of setting up for emulation gaming using MAME and others for, ya know...gaming. Overkill for what I'm doing and using this for, but again, I'd rather have that power on hand to be able to do some of these things rather than having separate computers to separate things. Fantastic buy for anyone just needing a small computer for non-intensive things, but still has enough power to do some of the things I need/want it to do. I wouldn't hesitate on getting another one of these, either a lower powered one (same company, compared to other models on Amazon) for a home server, or a more powerful one for a fully dedicated PC. 5 stars all around. *MAJOR QUICK UPDATE* I haven't needed to update anything recently. Held off from making major updates except the drivers for the Radeon Vega 8 (BOOOO! to MS for trying to push Win11...Even when this machine will NOT run it...so STOP ASKING IF I WANT IT!)... Kept getting an error while trying to update drivers for the Vega graphics ....Unfortunately, it caused a major issue with audio via HDMI. Told me to plug it in and activate it...but it's a TV. Cable TV still works. Tried another HDMI cables. Didn't try a CPU monitor, as it was an audio issue, not a video issue, and everything was still fine minus audio via HDMI. Ended up spending an hour updating EVERYTHING and trying to enable and manage the audio devices, I ended up going to the AMD website for Vega drivers and support using their Auto Detect software, and it installed what I needed, and fixed it upon 2-3 restarts (had other pending windows updates). Whew! Almost had a heart attack while trying to work from home that weekend. Regardless, not an issue with the machine, but just placing the info on here just in case someone had issues....still 5 stars. ... show more

  • Better than I expected
After a couple months this hasn't disappointed. My daughter's first gaming rig. This can play heavily modded Minecraft (240+ mods), Skyrim SE, and all the Lego adventure games on good settings, and *sort of* Assassin's Creed Odyssey on lower settings. That one plays but worries me due to heat. Ah well. ... show more

  • Super compact low power gaming PC
The media could not be loaded. Quiet, fast and super low power PC that is about the same footprint as a stack of 4 old CD Cases! So far has run every game in my Steam library in at least medium and usually high-max settings! I mounted a secondary larger 2.5 inch SSD for storage inside the back cover. A couple of tips: 1) to remover the back where there is a 2.5 inch mounting area, the screws will be found behind two glued in small rubber plugs and the two larger triangular rubber covers. The small rubber plugs are easily removed and replaced. For the large triangular pads, simply peel back the corners until you can see the screw head (no need to remove the whole piece and re-glue). Take a careful note of the orientation of the cover once removed as it is perfectly square and could easily be incorrectly replaced 90 degrees out which will cause some issues with a snug fit once the secondary drive is in place. Be careful installing the flimsy SSD connector to the main system header - make sure you have good light so you can see clearly. I would also suggest using needle nose pliers to ensure you have a good fit. For mobile use, I have previously used an Alienware X15 R2 Laptop but this system not only outperforms it but even including a small keyboard, mouse and a portable 18 inch 1080P HDMI screen the total weight is still less than the old Laptop and 180W Power Supply! This system has been running great since it arrived but today, May 1st 2023 it died in the middle of playing a Steam game. The PC did not seem to be overtaxed, or generating a lot of heat so I can only assume that hopefully it is just the power supply that has failed. The power supply brick now simply flashes green and the system will not power up :( Have contacted the supplier for assistance will update when the issue is resolved. Based on other similar reports and after testing the power supply (delivering the correct 19V and ONLY flashes when connected to the PC) it seems the system itself has likely malfunctioned! ... show more
