Let me be clear: I hate gyms. I have gym stuff in my garage —pull up bar, kettlebells, barbells and plates —but they are all there for one purpose: I refuse to grow up. My cycling focus has gone from "I want to ride fast" to "I want to ride tomorrow," so staying broadly fit is important. My son used to be a CF coach and recommended sandbags. Since I was already rucking for strength, I figured out why not. I won't go into all the exercises you can do on this. Go check YT. I can say that this is a sturdy, durable bag that has been thrown, carried, snatched, dropped, and opened many times. What I like: I can get a solid workout in 20 minutes and get back to life. I have 65 lbs of sand in mine. I routinely open mine to take the 40 lb sack out and use it for rucking with another backpack. What I don't like: With 65 lbs, the two bags inside don't fully expand, so one end of the bag is slightly heavier than the other. What I wish were different: The handles parallel to the circumference of the bag are too long for a proper clean to press. I wish they were shorter so I'd have a closer grip on the bag. Super tough, durable, well made. Comes with 3 internal bags that are tough with double velcro seals. Has sewn in red thread to let you know how much to fill the internal bags. The handles are tough and in the right places. The zipper is a beast and hides away so it won'tcome undone. Love it. With chipped rubber mulch you get just under 50lbs and the bag is the right amount of flexible. With sand or pea gravel you could load it up easily. I bought 2 and use the other one as a super tough duffle bag. Great job on design and materials. ... show more

So I found that if you fill three bags full will not fit in the bag. I wanted someplace between 70 and 80 pounds in it so two of the bags are used crumb rubber, which I bought from rogue about a year ago and just never used it the third one I filled with sand. So I just had to play until I could get it zipped. It seems pretty sturdy to me, this is not the first one I bought. I tried personally filling it with only two bags, and they just slopped around in there. I imagine that if you get to 125 pounds , you would have to fill it with sand. So I have one sandbag at 25 pounds., Second is 50 pounds and third is 80 pounds. ... show more

    • Best for Weights above 100lbs; Also Don't Fill the Filler Bags
I don't want to be too harsh on what may be a decent piece of equipment for someone else. While I've only had this a couple days, there are no obvious failures like stitches coming undone or sand leaking. However, there are some issues I wish I'd known about before ordering. Since there's no other reviews presently this is for you, prospective buyer, to better know what is being offered here. 1. The large bag (50-125lb) is a big duffel bag. If you're going to work with less than 100lbs, there is going to be a ton of slack in the fabric. Maybe this is what you'd like. I found it frustrating, since the handles go slack over a foot above the ground when I put the bag down; with weights closer to 50lbs I'm not getting full reps. 2. The large size comes with three identical filler bags (not two larges and one medium, like in the listing), good construction quality but totally inaccurate fill lines. They have a max fill line near the top in red, but that's got to be over 70lbs of sand. The duffel bag is only rated for 125lbs total, and you've got three filler bags. However, less is more when it comes to filling the filler bags; half way is about 40lbs, and this way they'll fit more easily into the duffel bag as well as move more easily during dynamic lifts (that's a good thing). 3. Looks brown online, but it's really more of an olive green. I personally hate olive green; I know it's many peoples favorite, military-inspired color. Just fair warning, it's not the same color you're seeing on the screen. Also mine has a couple thin beige stripes where the fabric has either faded or was manufactured incorrectly. Otherwise it's got good soft handles (more grip options than most sandbags I've seen), zipper seems strong, fill bags have held up so far to minor tossing and dropping. I'll update this if something goes wrong. But I'll also be buying a smaller bag for when I want to do work with less than 100lbs. ... show more

    • Great product for a great price
I have had this same bag since 2019, and it's still going strong. The stitching hasn't come loose, and I only have one small hole the size of a pea. The whole was made by doing bear crawl drags on a track when I first got the bag. I only had one issue with one of the internal sandbags. It popped while doing bag slams. I had both of the liners in the bag, and I think that one folded on itself, and the slam caused it to burst at the seams. All in all, the Sandbag gets 4 stars because it got a small hole after a few months but has not worn down since then. It's well worth the money and great for the user that doesn't need a name brand bag. ... show more

    • Perfect the gym less quarantine
A perfect solution if you want some heavy weights. Its not exactly a bench and bar set but fits in well as a substitute, especially with the gyms closed. It does come with 3 interior fill bags (2 large 1 small) and they are quality made with an interior rubberized layer to prevent damage. Even filled to the recommended red line fill limit on the bag, its still plenty heavy. The exterior bag is quite strong as well. The straps are top notch and the stitching is great quality. Ive done a full workout tossing the bag around and dropping it to the ground over and over again. Gives a great workout and is of great quality. Well worth the money. ... show more

There are a hundred ways to lift it, swing it, and carry it around. (I haven't tried throwing it) I use it indoors and I haven't found evidence of it leaking. Sand for it was like $4 at the local hardware store.
