My son's previous gaming chair had just about worn out, and I decided to get him a new one for Christmas. To be honest, shopping for a gaming chair can be overwhelming on Amazon, both because of the number of options as well as trying to figure out if the material is what you want. In this case, my son's previous chair was vinyl and had become torn and frayed and just generally worn in all aspects. This time I wanted a cloth chair, and while I was open to a different brand than last time, I wanted it shipped directly from an Amazon warehouse. I decided to take a chance on the Ulody chair, and I'm glad I did! From here on out, I'll try to break down my review for easier reading (I can be long-winded). Price: I got this chair a few weeks before Christmas, and compared to other options with similar reviews, the price on this chair was competitive. Material: Most gaming chairs seem to be cheap vinyl, which cracks, tears, and gets brittle. This chair is cloth and is much softer and has more padding than his previous chair. I'm very pleased with it. Assembly: Is it easy to assemble? Well, my 16 year old son had it unpacked, assembled, and was gaming within 90 minutes. I'd say that's a success! Look: Does the chair "look" good? Well, I usually don't include photos in my reviews (out of laziness), but I included them so you can see how good this chair looks. I'd be tempted to get one for my home office, especially since I'm not using his worn out old chair. If you're looking for a chair, don't be afraid to give this one a shot! ... show more

I upgraded my chair from a vinyl covered chair to this one. I spend 8+ hours a day in my chair, so I wanted cloth for the fact that vinyl tends to peel over time and wear down quickly. I haven't had that experience with other cloth chairs and this one seemed well liked overall. I wanted this one because it had under controls instead of being connected on the sides. It is way more comfortable than other gaming chairs in its price range (I am 5'6 and 180lbs). Assembly was easy as all screws came in labeled packets and instructions were easy to follow. No issues with this chair it’s what I expected for the price. Assembly was easy and the chair is comfortable and functional. The foot rest is just ok—I stopped using it after a few times. Unless you have smaller and/or shorter legs I would recommend just getting a separate foot rest.

I have the black cloth version. It is comfortable enough but there are some quirks. 1) The upper pillow rests too high. I am 6'2" and it hits at the very back of my skull. I've swapped it out for an older pillow that sits a little lower at my neck/base of my skull. Much more comfortable this way. 2) The massaging lumbar pillow is great in theory but since it is not attached to the seat it falls over every time I get up so I just stopped using it. 3) This is my biggest problem with this chair. The foot rest is a mandatory install. The bars from the pull out actually help support weight in the chair when in the closed position. Don't install it and you risk breaking the chair. Pull it out to use it and you risk breaking the chair. 4) No real padding under the upholstery on the arm rests. ... show more
