I love small, well-made, and inexpensive gadgets that I can use for video work. I am a "Video Studio in a Carryon Case" kind of guy, so this is perfect for me. I use it to add a little ambiance and color to podcasts and videos. It's very bright, lasts for a while, and can go from white to - I don't know - pretty much any color on the spectrum. I like the red color the best. You can mount it if you need to. I bought this to use as a secondary, continuous light source for low-light photography, and coming from that direction, this has worked just about perfectly. In low-light, the VL-49 is extremely bright (Or not, if you don't want it to be), and the different color options make it extremely versatile. Since I'm usually focused on photography, not having to carry a flashlight in my hands is also an added advantage. When I'm not using it, it doesn't take up much room in my camera bag, and I've honestly considered getting a second one, and 2 small tripods to set them up on for when I'm also using my camera's flash, or when I just want light from more angles.     • Great little accent or work light

I picked up two of these light to use for accent lighting, if the need every arouse. However, I found myself using them as work lights in a couple of instances. I first tested the lights out to see how long they'd last. My first test was out of the box, not even charging the light. I was able to get two hours on a single charge at full intensity at 5600k. Not bad at all. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the backs are magnetic and that it could easily hold onto things like a drop ceiling railing or a hinge. It came in handy as I stick it onto a hing above a flip-top table so I could make adjustments to my audio mixer during a school performance. The light was set to 10%, which was more than adequate and didn't go down one "bar" throughout the 6 hours I had it on. I'm very happy with these little lights. There are a few flashing settings like "police car" and "fireworks", which have different levels of usefulness. However, I can dial in an exact color temperature in Kelvin or on the 360-degree HSL color wheel. Although the only downside I can see is that you have to adjust these manually – there is no app and no remote control for them. I may even pick up a couple more. Handy and useful. ... show more
