I've used this off and on, this is my first summer running it, so we'll see how it does being on 24x7 in temps above 80 outside the vehicle. it would be nice if there was a travel bag for this, but I suppose I can build my own, to improve insulation. The google play store app in the US for this, is called "ETRUNK", it doesn't do much, but it's a little bit easier to change setting in the app than on the unit itself. the signal is pretty decent, I can still get a connection from inside my house, it was nice for testing. After using it over the 4th, I have decided that I will probably just buy a brand that uses a danfos/secop compressor, and specifically look for ones with good insulation. On my unit the compressor comes on more that I think it should, which could be a couple factors, not the least of which would be poor insulation, I'm uncertain where the temp probe is at in this unit, but it seems to maintain an accurate temperature. The real problem, I suspect due to the insulation, is that the compressor draws too much power when it kicks on. Even when the fridge shows that it's at the correct temp, the compressor kicks on and the voltage displayed on the screen of the fridge dips to 10.6-10.8 volts, this is with solar attached putting out 14+ volts and a fully charged battery. I didn't put a meter on it, but my solar controller didn't register the displayed dip in voltage, it may just be poorly designed circuitry. If I can find a way to properly/effectively add insulation, that should help, but the real solution is a better compressor that will draw less amps when the fridge is already at temperature. ... show more

Excellent cooler. We used this on our road trip and it worked perfectly. We were able to maintain a healthy diet without a mess of water and ice. I Love it!! Only wish it had wheels. It's heavy for carrying.

I tested this out in my kitchen. It froze water pretty fast on the freeze setting. I took it skiing, which was a 2-1/2 hour drive. It kept everything perfect on the deli setting 4c. I had it behind my seat. It had the worst smell. In 2 hours, I had a terrible headache and the taste of the cooler smell in my nose and mouth. I put it in the back of my Subaru Forester, much better, but the headache continued hours after getting to my lodging. On the way to ski and home, I kept it in the back. The smell did not affect me farther away. I do not recommend using this in a small car or a truck cab. I have figured it out now, it works well so far. Nice not to have to get ice. I originally got it for my small vintage trailer that only has an ice box cooler. I will not be bringing it into the trailer, will keep it in my Subaru. ... show more

The temperature work fine and does a good job but the compartments are small. The picture they show is misleading. I could only fit 2 chick breast packages and 6 individual yogurts and it was getting tight. Couldn't get a dozen eggs and some soda. Maybe be good for a day picnic far away....not much more. ... show more

I definitely recommend it, after seeing too many electric coolers (some very expensive) I decided to go for this cheap one compared to the others. I have used it for 1 month and I am fascinated! I no longer have to carry a large camping cooler filled with 3 ice packs to last me the weekend, this saves me space and weight, I like that I can keep it in my car with the car cord and in my camper popup is charged by the solar panel I have. It really cools! I minimized how much it was going to be able to cool and on the first use I frozen everything I put there 😅 lesson learned… it really cools what it says. My kids and I have a lot of food allergies, so going out of town can be frustrating for us. This time, we decided to buy this car refrigerator, so we knew we had food when we needed it, without searching for hours, or worrying about going to a place that we couldn't trust, or any cross contamination. We traveled 8,000 miles in June and our chest was a huge lifesaver. We loved it! Did have an issue with a cord but the seller was super fast and issued us a replacement with no hassle very quickly, even shipped the replacement to a friends house since we were on the road. We were amazed to be able to have ice cream stay hard and by placing things we didn’t want frozen towards the top we were able to maintain a good temperature for everything.
