The G2 Ugly stick is a very good rod for nearly everything. They are sufficiently durable and the action is fast with a flexible tip like all ugly sticks. Value for your money has to be near the top of your list.

Bought the pole for my wife to go with her penn spinfisher VI she has had it for 8 months and it broke on what I believe was a grouper I was under the impression they were unbreakable I emailed uglystick I havnt received a response back yet but I still recommend product I have used ugly sticks all my life and this is the first time one has broken. ... show more

The GX2 is versatile for a med/heavy rod. I have some m/h rods that are rated heavier than the GX2 specs and can't be used with my lighter lures, not the case here. I feel the rod has as a good amount of sensitivity for the price, I feel the thud, whether it's a 3/4 pounder or an 8-pound largemouth (opps...Florida) bass. I'm not the most gentile person with my gear at times however I have never broken an Ugly.... yet ... show more
