The description completely omits specifying the HDMI standard TYPEs. It is Type C for the angle plug, and Type A for the other end (straight). It is as pictured. Who would have guessed for high-end Nikon and Canon sockets, the Type C angle plug is oriented UP - instead of the logical DOWN (gravity has less stress on the socket, and is not in the way of your hand-held grip). A different product (straight plugs both ends) will be less stress on the HDMI socket in the camera. It's a great idea (angled plug and coiled cord), but not useful at all because it's backwards. This product is VERY hard to find in Amazon searches because it doesn't mention Type A and Type C which is the whole point of the cable. ... show more

    • Not for gimbals!
I bought this to connect my DSLR to my 5” monitor mounted to my gimbal. This cable simply is not useful for this. It’s NOT more lightweight than a previous cable I was using (which was stiff and I felt weighed down my camera). I thought the coil would help with having less loose cable hanging around, but the coil is tight, and stiff, so it didn’t stretch easily. It just barely didn’t reach my monitor from camera (without having to stretch), so because of this it would yank the right side of my camera down, and I had to re-balance my gimbal to compensate for this with only some success. I’m using at MOST 3/4 of my gimbals payload capacity (including the cable), so it’s not the gimbal. I thought the right angle would save me some space, and it WOULD if bent the opposite way, but it doesn’t so because of this it blocks the micro-USB port of my camera (which means I cannot use my gimbal to change camera settings). So basically, using this cable means I have to choose between easily controlling my camera or using the larger monitor. Not ideal. I’m returning. And truth be told I haven’t found an adequate option on amazon, and have purchased a HYPER hyper-thin cable from BH. ($18.99 + shipping).     • Perfect size for a camera mounted monitor.
There is enough length to reach a monitor anywhere on your camera rig. I'm using this with a Canon 80D and it works well. The coil keeps things nice and tidy. The right angle plug reaches the HDMI port while keeping a low profile on the side of the camera. My monitor has a full size HDMI port so this cord is exactly right for the job. ... show more

I like it, but its going the wrong way for my Nvidia Shield Tablet. It blocks the USB port. :) Looking for a Left angled Cable now. It also works ok on the pi zero, but it is again going the wrong way , but the distance between the usb and HDMI ports on the pi zero let you still get usb connectors into the ports on the zero. But this might be the way you want it to go. if you need the wires going that way. Not used this long enough to see how durable it is. For these cables, look at the hdmi port on your device, with the WIDE part UP, a right angled cable will go to your right, and a left will go.. well Left. :) ... show more

Little cable to hook external monitor to the cold/hot shoe on my camera. Coiled and short to keep it from being the way. Seems expensive for a short run of wire and flimsy and does give great video see picture
