It’s a cute little chicken coop. But there were many flaws in the assembly process. For instance the instructions are just pictures there’s no description of what to do. On one of the pictures it shows to insert a piece but it doesn’t show the orientation in the picture. The piece has two different ways that could be put in place I had to make several mistakes go backwards and turn it around. Also several of the pieces did not have pilot holes where they should have been you simply have to insert the screws in the wood and hope it doesn’t split.. Also the run where it butts up to the main chicken coop kind of gets spread at the bottom it’s not a very good connection point. Instructions also do not explain where to install the clips it should be very exact. Also the metal handle it’s supposed to sit down but it doesn’t actually give you a measurement of how far it’s supposed to sit past the bottom. I just guess that it shouldn’t be deeper than the thickness of the wheels that seem to work. My point is is the instructions are terrible and the overall connection points are not solid. The simple introduction to some metal plates and additional screws would’ve made it much more solid. As far as weatherproof goes I don’t know I just set it up and the rainy season hasn’t started yet we will see. Overall not impressed with the solidity of the product or assembly and it seems like they chiefed out on lots of the hardware and parts. Also one of the pieces was badly damaged luckily I am a carpenter and I have a 15 gauge gun and wood glue and some clamps and I took a half hour and fixed it. Anyone else would’ve had to have returned it which would’ve been a three hour repacking cycle. ... show more

    • Only buy this if you are putting it inside another structure and NOT outside!
This item is easy to put together but is also UNTREATED wood that starts warping as soon as it is outside in any kind of weather. We've had to put new roofing on BOTH nesting boxes, and fix the slide in middle tray that warped to the point it wouldn't stay in! The 'roosting' boards in the middle arent rounded so, the chickens had small sores on their feet until we rounded the top edges down and even then, they weren't really long enough to fit firmly in the slots provided so, half the time we are coming out and putting them back in place. TOTALLY NOT WORTH THE PRICE if you want it to be your only coop but, if you need it quick and can put it inside your barn or a bigger shed, it works ok. ... show more

    • Flimsy run, mesh not stapled securely.
Some screws missing. We had to find more from ones we have on hand. Some holes didn't match had to refill. Mesh on the run not stapled on some panels. The covering over nest boxes leak, had to put tarp over it. Would not recommend.

Took a chance because of all the bad reviews - glad I did. Nice little coop, a few steps seem out of order, but we made do, the only place I did not see pilot holes were for the wheels and the poles, but the placement seems more personal preference. I did cut the cord and re-rig the little run piece attached to the coop as I will not be leaving the coop door open all the time and only moving everything as needed. I would suggest getting a few extra latches for the front and back coop doors, run door, and carabineers (about 7 of these, the small ones) to lock them all with - without extra locks it is not racoon proof and they are sneaky little devils. ... show more

    • Need to replace all the inferior hardware.
Wheels are to smallto move over anything but smooth terrain. Hardware...latches etc. all need to be replaced. 3-4 chickens top in this space not the 6-8 they mention. Roots rest on floor ...not really a roost.

The wood arrived cracked and splitting. Preinstalled hardware was upside down. Not a single perch. The slats between the nesting boxes are very thin particle board. The screws for the handle barely reach into the wood. Please dont use it to move the coop until you have used construction adhesive to hold the screws in. Basically, if you want a small prefab structure that you can alter and reinforce, then this is the ticket. ... show more

Putting it together was easy once you got the second box. However it was not weather proof now very sturdy on the run. I was expecting to be much bigger however it was not. I had to order an additional fencing so they had more room to run

    • Not worth the buy, broken when arrived and it’ll leak in the rain
Wood is cracked in spots and very thin flimsy wood, broken piece of wood on the drop fence by the inside door, run is a lot smaller than expected and very flimsy, the nesting box lid where wood panels come together have cracks and will leak in the rain so it’ll need reenforcing, the nesting box dividers don’t stay up and one don’t even have the cut out to put the devider in correctly. Definitely not worth the cost. Please continue looking elsewhere don’t waste your money here. ... show more
