  • This is a great little TV!!
I bought this to replace a tiny TV for my kitchen. After knee and hip surgeries, standing and cooking was not fun. Having a little TV in the kitchen really helped make the time go faster. I was really surprised by this little TV, right out of the box, it's tiny but it looks so nice! The directions were good although mostly not needed. Two stands are included and three antennas as well as a coax antenna cable. Power plug included. AV cable included, and I'm trying to find a way to hook up HDMI to the AV. I wanted to use Roku. But I hooked up the included antenna, and surprise surprise! I got about 30 channels although we are about 40 miles east of Denver. In fact, I have a small TV and antenna with a receiver in a bedroom on the other side of the house, that does not receive channels as well. I think this also has SD capability so you could record or rewind programs? I am excited to see if I can use Roku or Chromecast with this TV. In any case, the remote works really well, setting/using the menu works great, the audio is very good and this little TV has a great picture! I'm tempted to buy another one! ... show more

  • A really great little TV. Just give it a little help with the antenna, if needed.
When I first set up the TV, the picture was superb. I knew right away that my TV project was going to be a success. However, the different antennas that came with the TV were not really good enough to pull in a suitable number of local channels. I was not to be discouraged, especially now that I saw how nice the TV picture was. I purchased, on Amazon, one of the small HDTV stubby auxiliary antennas for about 17 dollars. As soon as I plugged in the new auxiliary antenna, and ran another channel scan, I was able to pull in 89 channels. All of the main local channels and their sub channels worked great! So, my main message is, if the regular included antennas are not working so well for you, do not blame the little TV. Just give it some extra help with a slightly better antenna, and it will work great for you. I promise! Scouts honor! Now that I see how successful my TV project has been so far, I plan to get another slightly larger Tyler TV as well. I often sit outside on my back deck and work on my computer. The little TV will be on in the background so that I do not miss any of my favorite old TV programs. Thanks, Tyler folks, for producing such a wonderful and useful little TV! You have done a great job and have provided a real gem of a little TV. ... show more

  • Good little media player and TV
I'll start by saying this is not a planted review, I bought this full price (Getting real tired of having to ignore 5 stars reviews because they are all fake) So far so good, bought it for a outside storm shelter and a portable media player for the car. I put the exterior magnetic antenna (the one with the 6 foot cord outside of the shelter.) And it will pick up a few channels I need for the weather. TV reception is just going to vary by location and antenna placement. I've tried it in a couple of places and some channels were better some we're worse. It includes an antenna adapter to hook up to a powered antenna. The 7 inch will run about a solid 1.5 hours on Antenna, not sure on the USB or SD, I assume it will run longer. It comes with a car charger, wall charger, rabbit ear style antenna, two corded extended antennas, remote and a couple of different mounts and wall mounts. The menus are a little clunky but not too difficult to navigate. The picture quality is very good although the viewing angles aren't great. The SD card does not insert all the way, so a low profile USB flash drive is the way to go. I loaded up a few video files and it played them no problem. Mostly MP4s and MPEG, don't think it will play AVI or MKV but haven't tested those yet. The only thing it's really missing is a headrest mount and a case, but that's just nitpicking and asking for too much. Overall I would give it 5 stars but gave it 4 so it wouldn't be seen as a fake review. ... show more

  • Very affordable portable TV
For the price, this is an excellent device. its not a HD screen, but good LCD Screen. At certain angle, the screen washout the image when its light colors, and gets black tones, when there is dark colors, again because is an LCD material. The audio is mono in two small speakers, very decent. I can hook into my portable speaker via auxiliary, it defies the purpose of "portability" oh well, I love to have it in high volume when I am alone. Did I mention, it is also an FM Radio? ;-) . The AV input works fine when I hook any other device, like dvd player or VCR. I am not sure about gaming since I don't use it for that purpose. The antennas does not have very potent signal. You are gonna miss some channels, and you need to go high ground, like a building, in order to obtain best signal channels, or hook to a much potent antenna. I only use it to watch the games when I am at work, and midday news. The remote control is super generic. I feel difficult to use the remote, its more easy to work with the buttons on the screen. The battery life is fair, despite reading some reviews that the battery doesn't last I guess it depends on the device). Fair, if not good, investment if you want to avoid those stream app subscriptions, these portable TVs are good to watch your favorite shows (if they are broadcast) and you are gonna save money for those sports subs apps and watch them live. A nostagia for boomers, a good conversation starter for some millenials and generation X, and a discovery for generation Z. ... show more
