I have used this long enough to discover one annoying quirk---not a deal breaker, but worth adding it to this review. The language can switch to Espanol, resulting in no volume on your tv or, in the case of NFL games, the play-by-play being in Spanish! If this happens, use your MTS button on your remote and switch the language back to English using the OK button. That seems to fix it. It seems to happen fairly frequently, but it is an easy fix. Here is my original review--- I had a Digital Prism for years. It was a dependable tv but very small and would not pull in many channels. I ordered a Lead Star 12 inch from Amazon. I had to return it. I am not sure if I just got a lemon or the tv is simply a poor quality. I ordered this Tyler 14 inch. Reading the reviews I opted to order a separate antenna (the cheap Philips rabbit ears). This TV pulls in every major station plus more. I am only about 15 miles from the towers, but my home faces the opposite direction. I had many problems getting stations with my Prism. The picture is great (a limited viewing angle but very manageable) and the sound is, also, adequate, which is great, because I have hearing loss! The only somewhat negative is most probably one you might have with any TV where you are using antenna reception----when the weather is 'active' (even windy), you might have to readjust your antenna in order to keep your channels. You may lose a few channels all together. Also, the reception may have a delay on some of the channels where the sound is not matching up to the picture. That is rather annoying, but it does not happen often. I just adjusted the antenna and/or changed channels. Over all, this is a great value! I gave it 5 stars---it is not perfect but definitely a great tv for the price! I am very happy with it and would recommend it! ... show more

    • A surprisingly great TV for the price
I got this for my mom for Christmas, she wanted a TV in her kitchen, but running a cable to the kitchen would have been a nightmare. Instead I paired this TV with a Roku, and she can take it anywhere. I was super-impressed with the TV, I didn't know the brand, and it was relatively inexpensive, so other than the other positive reviews, I didn't have high expectations. This TV is amazing, the packaging alone shows that the company cares about their product. It also comes with a ton of options for mounting, connecting, and powering the TV. The picture quality was great, with good of-angle viewing. All the parts of the TV seem solidly built. I didn't remember reading that it has FM radio, but it does, making this TV particularly useful in case of a disaster, as it picks up both radio and TV signal over the air, while running off of battery. The only thing I might have wanted was a carrying handle, but I'm certain that the VESA mounting holes on the back could be adapted to add a handle. TLDR : Top notch portable TV, don't look elsewhere, I'm already ordering a second one for myself. With the Roku plugged directly into the TV it powers on and streams video perfectly. I was worried there might not be enough power provided by the USB port, and that I might need a secondary USB pack if it was going to be used off of battery power, instead it seems quite content to power the TV and Roke off of the TV's built in battery. I'm sure the runtime goes down a little bit powering the Roku as well, but I was impressed it worked so well. ... show more

    • Pretty good for a low cost 12V TV
The remote control is a little quirky. Does not allow me to select a channel with the keypad. Pretty much have to use the up and down channel arrows. The picture quality is decent. Again, for a 12V TV it is decent. No where near as vibrant and crisp an image as with my large TVs, but for what this is, it is good enough. There are all of the typical adjustments you can set for the tv picture quality, but they don't really do much. The sound is easy to hear and understand. I am using the simple antenna that screws onto the side and sticks up in the air 6 inches. It does not get all the channels, but a decent number of them. I have a few big antennas that would allow it to get all the channels, but then it is not as small and portable. 1.5 amps is what is listed on the back, so if you are using this as an emergency power outage TV, you have an idea that it should be reasonable in terms of battery usage. This TV works just great! We had been using it while our electricity was out for the past week and it worked great. Reception wasn't the best, but we live in an area around Houston proper, and were too lazy to walk the antenna around to find a better spot. At 78 yo, not many could blame me for being lazy. Highly recommend, especially for camping. It's always nice to know what the weather forecast is! ... show more

The picture was sharp and clear with good color. There was some occasional pixilation but I am used to that when receiving digital broadcasts without an outdoor antenna. This product comes with two different antennas. The one I used attaches to the side of the case. It is flexible and maybe 8 or 10 inches long. With this one I could receive all local channels except the ones from the station furthest away -- about 12 miles. The second antenna has a long cord and a magnetic base. I might have gotten better range by placing it in a higher location if I had been able to use it -- it was defective. The upper part of the antenna is supposed to screw onto the magnetic base but it had no internal threads. They were not stripped they just seemed to be missing. I sent a message to the manufacturer through their website explaining the problem and asking for a replacement antenna. I heard nothing. After a week I sent another message. Still nothing. More than three weeks after the first message I decided to return the TV to Amazon since it was getting near the end of the return window. If not for the problem with the antenna I think I would have been happy with the TV but I am definitely NOT happy the manufacturer's customer service. I will order another brand as a replacement. ... show more
