  • High resolution borescope, easy to maneuver, great images, excellent screen, much better than others
The media could not be loaded. Borescopes such as this cost thousands of dollars only a couple of years ago. Now they are within the reach of average consumers. This is a high quality borescope that comes in a protective case. It is rechargeable via USB-C. It has a large, high-resolution color screen that makes for very easy viewing of images in realtime. It comes with a TF card for storing of photos and videos taken with the borescope, and a storage case. The business end of the borescope has a camera and a light, and by using a small wheel on the control end (usable with one hand), you can curve the end of the borescope around 180 degrees. This is extremely useful for examining valves inside a cylinder when the borescope is inserted into the spark plug hole. Unlike many of the other borescopes of this type on the market today, this one also has a second camera built into the business end, that faces out to the side. This camera also has its own light. You can easily swtich between the axial and the radial cameras with a button press on the main control unit. As with most borescopes like this, pressing a button allows you to capture an image or video and save it to the TF card. Many of the cameras of this type that you can purchase today have a good image on screen, but the image or video written to the card suffers greatly from horrendous encoding artifacts, making the unit less than useful for producing images for later analysis. This camera has no such problems - the images and video written to the card look just as good as the sharp image you see on the screen. This camera also produces much better low-light images when compared to other similar units. As expected, the smaller, radial camera produces a slightly softer image than the main axial camera, but both are very usable. Also very different with this camera: it includes a built-in microphone, so when you record video, it will record sound as well. You can use this to talk about what you are seeing, for later reference - this is the first borescope I have ever tested that also records audio. Bravo! This borescope also includes two accessories not often seen anymore: a hook tool and a magnet tool, which allow you to use the borescope to find and retrieve lost tools, parts, bolts, etc. from inaccessble regions. This borescope is simple to use, the battery lasts for a very long time, gives good views and access, and takes great pictures and video. Who is this for? - Mechanics to need to examine the inside of engines - Anyone who needs to view inaccessible places Pros: - High resolution - Excellent screen - Simple to use with one hand - Great pictures and video - Records audio with video - Included hook and magnet accessories Cons: - End is slightly thicker than some other borescopes, likely due to dual cameras ... show more

  • Game changer
I've had a borescope for quite some time and while I'm no professional mechanic, I do use it fairly often when I'm working on our cars, or restoring an older one. When I ran across this one with an articulating head, I had to try it. I haven't been disappointed. The operation of this is simple and intuitive. The camera and display quality are exceptional and definitely more crisp than the one I've been using and the display is a larger size and lightweight. The articulating head is amazing to me to say the least and makes the weird angles and corners so much more manageable. It does have a much shorter length than my other, but honestly... I don't think I've ever needed more than the 5' or so that it provides. I can't speak to how long the charge will last on the battery since I use it for maybe 15 minutes at a time and put a quick charge on it when I'm done. It's always shown full for me so I imagine you'd get plenty of time out of it. Great product, nice case. ... show more

  • THIS IS A VERY COOL TOY WITH SOME REAL WORLD VALUE
Scenario One: You buy a house that's over 100 years old. (True story - it happened to me.) You find a safe and it's locked. And you're dying to find out what's in the safe. But it's locked and virtually impenetrable. Solution: Drill a 3/8 inch hole in the front and go in with this borescope to find of if there's even anything in the safe and if it's worth cracking. Answer: Yes and yes. Scenario Two: You are doing some wiring and really need to see what's in the wall. Solution: You can bust a big hole in the wall. Or you can drill a 3/8 inch hole and go in with this scope and check out what's going on. Scenario Three: You wife drops her wedding band in the sink. Solution: you go exploring first to find out where in the piping it's at so you only need to take apart the pipes where the ring actually is. Very cool. I'm sure there are 101 other potential applications for this very cool tool. Mechanics, home inspectors, researchers, and dabblers like me all need one of these at their disposal. It comes with a nice zippered semi-hard case, lens wipes, and charging cable. Overall, this is a great product. It's well made. There are a variety of applications. In some cases, in the first use it will pay for itself. It's got tons of memory - so you can take a load of pictures if you need to document your explorations. In my book, this product is a winner. ... show more

  • Good Image, Already Helpful
We had some issues with our dryer not drying our clothes completely. I figured it might be a clogged vent, so I got this to check out that issue. I was able to get a pretty good look at the venting system with this scope. Then we had to check on a clog in our septic system. While this is not long enough to go through the entire pipe by any stretch, we were able to use it to check on the outdoor vent pipe and could see far enough down to help troubleshoot the issue. When I used it at first, I thought the picture was really fuzzy or the light was too weak, but then I, uh, remembered the cap was still on, haha. Lesson learned...always take off the cap before using this! Overall, this will be immensely helpful when working on vehicles or checking out other tight places. The articulating end of the scope gives you a full view, and the little hook and magnet attachments will be really useful. ... show more
