This bottle opener was just what I was looking for, and so cheap. I mounted it onto the side of the metal frame of a large kiln. I couldn't use the wood screws that come with this item but you could if you're mounting it onto wood. I got screws with machine threads from the hardware store and had to drill and tap some holes to mount this opener, which was fine. The finish looks like patina that formed onto the opener over decades but really it is just sprayed on and comes off with acetone, which I used on it to clean up the oil from tapping the mounting holes. The bottle has to be horizontal for it to grab. Could be angled down a bit to open the bottle in more of an upright position to avoid spilling. ... show more

This is a nice opener. Only issue I have with it is that the opening is a bit narrow, meaning I need to tilt the bottle a little more than I do with another opener. All in all very minor. Also you should know that the rust displayed in the picture is what it looks like. I'm using outside and it fits in, but keep that in mind - maybe you don't want something that at least looks rusty in your kitchen or living room. ... show more
