  • Sturdy, all-metal construction. Ingenious design. Very easy to use. A bit pricey.
Style: Chianti Chrome Plated
I came across this wine opener at a friend's house. They raved about it and after using it I could see why they really liked it. I bought one for myself and one for a gift. I love the construction, the design and the ease-of-use. The only "negative" thins is that it is a bit pricey. However I really can't see it breaking in the future. If I can get 10 years of use out of it, then it will be well worth the cost. Time will tell, but for now, I am completely satisfied with the product. ... show more

  • Screw In Clockwise & Bottom The Screw, Continue Clockwise, Until Cork OUT, All One Clockwise Motion
Style: Chianti Chrome Plated
Truly a finely machined corkscrew. Cuts through the cork cleanly, the top cap flips over and you keep turning the same way and it pulls the cork out effortlessly. I had one 40 years ago, but my ex took it during our split and I didn’t know the name of this Corkscrew. I only knew the quality of the precisely machined threads with sharp edges, cut directly into the shaft vs. the cheap Rolled threads. which were welded onto the shaft, usually sloppily & slightly off center. I can’t tell you how many look-a-likes I bought and gave away (the difference is so clear cut 🤭 actually clean cut). Unfortunately, the write-ups don’t include an adequate description for this attribute. Full disclosure; I am a Professional Engineer and worked in the Design and Production of Jet Engines for over 30 years and Surgically Implantable Medical Devices for 10 years more. To me these Corkscrews are worth every penny and more, if you value QUALITY & PRECISION. When we had guests and served wine the Corkscrew always seemed to be discussed. Everyone wanted to try it out and since I had a few of the cheaper ones to give away, they went pretty quickly, even though they didn’t work quite as well. The people who missed out on the ones I gave away were just as happy with name and Amazon as the place to buy it. The title of this review should really say, “6255556C Monopol One Way (Clockwise) Corkscrew Wine Opening (Screw Corkscrew In Turning Clockwise To The Bottom Of The Screw, Then Continue Turning Clockwise, Until Cork Is OUT - All In One Clockwise Screwing Motion) ... show more

  • A great design
Style: Chianti Chrome Plated
This is the best design for a corkscrew that I have ever used. It is effective, takes little muscular effort, and is compact. There are no complicated assemblies to construct like for some other types of corkscrews. I am not as certain about the build quality when compared to a friend's very old version of this type of corkscrew. That one was all-metal; this one has some plastic that I am less confident about. Time and usage will be the test. ... show more

  • The best design for a corkscrew
Style: Chianti Chrome Plated
Purchased one of these over 30 years ago just because of the design. It finally broke. The quality of this one is excellent. It is much easier to use than the rabbit eared one that seem to be the most popular . It takes up little room. No need for CO2 cartridges that leak down between uses. Nothing to plug in to electricity. But guess what. My spouse is not mechanically inclined and can not seem to learn how to operate it. ... show more

  • Inferior Version of the Real Thing
Style: Chianti Chrome Plated
This is a cheap inferior metal product. Not worth the money. Feels like it will break soon. Sorry I bought it.

  • The Best Corkscrew You Can Find
Style: Chianti Chrome Plated
A great product. Works perfectly every time. Easy to remove cork from bottle and easy to remove cork from remover. It's size is small and easily fits in a drawer. In my opinion, it is easier to use than the Rabbit type removers, and works just as well. My wife has small hands and I have XL hands. The remover works easily as well for both of us. You won't be disappointed. I bought these for gifts and we have been using ours for at least 10 years. ... show more

Style: Chianti Chrome Plated
I was trying replace a similar corkscrew that I purchased in Germany about 20 years ago. This one is adequate, but not nearly as nice as the one I had--although they seem to be made by the same company. Maybe they aren't what they used to be, or it may be that there's a higher-end model? The one I had had a real helix for the screw part and it wasn't plated like this one. It appeared to be solid metal--all around more robust. That said, this design is the only one I've found that will reliably pull stuck corks. The true helix was much better on old corks, however. This type of screw often just pulls out the center of the cork. Works fine on young wine corks, though. Still looking for one like the one I had.... ... show more

  • Stylish Wine Opener
Style: Chianti Chrome Plated
The wine opener is well made and very sturdy. A bit different compare to a traditional cork remover but once you figure out the mechanism the cork comes of with an ease without any force. A bit more expense than an ordinary opener but a lot less expensive than one of those fancier ones.
