This mattress is really well constructed, but… I didn’t realize how problematic the thin profile would be. We bought it for our skinny-as-a-rail 14-year old son, and even at his weight, the mattress is not thick enough for comfort. He was complaining about the wood beams crossing underneath the mattress, he couldn’t sleep on this. It’s solid as a floor mattress when one of his friends spends the night, so it’s getting some use. But as a replacement mattress for his bed, it’s sadly just not comfortable enough. I would imagine the problem is compounded the heavier the person using the mattress is. ... show more

It takes a little care to open as you don't want to cut the mattress but it's compressed and there's not much room to cut. I prefer firm mattress but this is a soft foam mattress. The quality and size is not bad but not the best for the price. It came in good packaging and filled up in one night and there was no smell in it. The length and width are fine for us comfortable to fit. The firmness is lacking which does not give much back support. The thickness is around 5 inches it is less than 6. We decided to use it as a spare mattress for guests because it is not thick enough to fit on twin beds comfortably. ... show more

This mattress definitely isn't for me, at least not on its own. I'm a bit on the bigger side, a little over 6 feet and about 240 pounds. This mattress just isn't big enough to support a guy like me. So I grabbed a second mattress, which was an 8-inch extra firm hybrid mattress, and used that underneath this one, to make a 14-inch composite. And that was quite comfortable. I put all that on a storage bed frame and now I have a nice place to rest in the back room of my shop building, for when I have long build projects or am in the kitchen doing all-night cooks for catering events.
