  • Works fine, other reviewers installed incorrectly
Works great to reduce pressure to your ball bearing turbo. High pressure from your engines oil feed source goes into the regulator and 40psi oil goes out of the regulator to the turbo. This does not lower the oil pressure of the entire engine in any way.

  • This blew my engine...
I was having turbo seal issues from excess oil pressure and found out about this little guy and thought it would be perfect to solve my problem. It certainly kept oil pressure to the turbo @ 40psi but it dropped my entire oil system down to 40psi from 80-95psi at higher rpm.. This eventually led to rod knock and an engine rebuild. The design of the valve is the problem. It is a bleed in the oil supply line that drops the pressure in that line to 40psi. My turbo oil feed was tapped right at the oil pump and this regulator could bypass enough oil to drop the whole system pressure down. In the instructions they say to remove any restrictors before the valve. Had I left in a restrictor I wouldn't be having to rebuild my engine now. The valve should be designed to function like a regulator on a shop air line. Line at full pressure goes in one side and reduced pressure out the other, not a tee that bleeds pressure. ... show more

  • This is a leakage to your oil pressure.
Used this on a customers car and this acts as an extra oil pressure regulator that actually reduces oil pressure in your engine. Be very careful as this will increase main bearing wear in your engine. We're doing the honorable thing of rebuilding the engine at cost. There's better options out there... ... show more
