I bought this as a bed/couch for a basement guest bedroom. It went together in just under an hour, which would have been faster/easier with two people. The instructions were clear and all the hardware was well labelled and packaged individually in blister packs. The frame is heavy duty and looks great. The mattress (which comes rolled up in it's own box) is comfortable for both sitting and sleeping. The folding part wants to spring back open, so you might want to get a non-slip pad for it. Transition from couch to bed is easy. Going from bed to couch is a little more difficult. Also keep in mind that you'll have to pull the couch away from the wall before converting it into a bed. Very good assembling instructions. I was able to do everything by myself except for the last step when I needed two extra hands to help me install the mattress fame into the sofa arms. This step is also the only step for which I had to watch the video. The color coding and pictures of the written instructions made the whole process very easy. Simple, good looking frame. Nice and firm mattress. Time will tell if it wears out well. Easy to turn into a bed but hard to turn back into a sofa. Very satisfied so far. ... show more

This is not the first futon I have owned. I wanted a futon that was both comfortable to sleep on and sit on when folded up. From reviews I read on this one before purchasing it seemed to fit the bill. I have not been disappointed. My 21 year-old son is using it as a bed for three months between college semesters. The full-size version I ordered is more comfortable than the bed he had in his dorm room. The mattress has springs in it that makes it more than just a pillow type of feel. I tried it out myself and was pleased. Opening it to the complete horizontal position can be done with one person grabbing the center of the seated portion and pulling out. Setting it back up into a couch is more easily done with two people squealing it together from the sides. I purchased the version with drawers. The simply roll on the floor and fit under the frame. If you didn’t want to use them you could take them out and store them and the futon would look normal without them there. It was the same price with or without them so I figured I might as well get them. Overall I’m very pleased with my purchase. I would definitely buy this futon again. ... show more

We ordered 2 identical futons on the Oak frame. The directions and parts were very clearly labeled and understandable. We had both put up and together in one evening. They are the current sitting furniture in my upstairs living room, and I absolutely LOVE them! I cannot sing their praises more! My parents are even going to be ordering when they get their living room remodeled, they were so impressed. The mattresses are firm, but soft. It is clear they will last for years to come. I like the look of this for our den. Whenever our grandchildren come to stay over, the eldest likes to sleep on it. Comfortable for him. Not so comfortable for older bodies...in my opinion. We've had it over a year now, and it is holding up well, and still looks nice.
