My roommate and I bought this futon because we didn't have anything on our living room, and because we wanted something cheap, we shopped based on price, not quality. So, when we received the product (it took the both of us to carry it upstairs but it's not super heavy), we were fairly surprised how nice the futon was. It's color (red) is not dull, so it gave some life to our empty living room. It was super easy to set up: we took the futon out of its cover (it's nice that it came on a cover, although the cover fits only while folded), twisted the legs on the bottom and moved it around to where we wanted it. The legs seem sturdy and the futon is very easy to handle. It's a bit smaller than what I thought, somewhat the size of a loveseat. Two adults can sit on it kind of comfortably, but I don't believe an adult would be able to sleep on it without having part of his/her body hanging out. The material of the futon itself seems nice, although it is not super comfortable. For me and my roommate, this futon fits its purpose and it is exactly what we were looking for when we bought it: it's cheap, we can seat on it, it seems sturdy and durable (so far) and somewhat comfy, easy to handle and set up, and it has a nice color. For that, we review it as a 5-star. If you're looking for comfortability and/or as a possible bed for guests, then I do not recommend this futon. If you're a college student or just got your first job (like us!) and need some cute, inexpensive furniture for your place, then I highly recommend it. ... show more

This futon was ordered for the living room of my apartment and has functioned well. It was very easy to set up and is easy to adjust, even with one person. Although the futon is not very soft out of the box, once it is broken in it becomes much more comfortable. I have had multiple people on the futon at once and it has held up strong. However, if you jump on it or are otherwise reckless on it, I could see it being a problem. It is also worth noting is that the futon sits low, roughly 14 inches from the ground. For me this was not an issue as I am only 5’7, but could be for some who prefer higher seating or those who are taller. If you are going to college or already at college and looking for somewhere to sit when in your dorm or apartment, this is a great option. Most of the people who are disappointed in the reviews seem to be looking for something with a ‘classic’ couch feel. For those people a different option would be the way to go, however, if you are looking for somewhere to relax and hang out with friends, this futon works perfectly for that. Pros: - Easy to assemble - Inexpensive - Breaks in well - Has some space underneath for storage Cons: - Out of the box stiffness/uncomfortable - Takes 3-5 days to ship Notes: - Futon sits low - Has Velcro that is seemingly pointless ... show more

The futon arrived quickly and in perfect condition. The color is a deep red, so it's not too bright, but has a very rich color appearance and blends well with multiple colors. In sofa position, the pad is not extremely thick, but will be comfortable for the limited amount of sitting time that I will be using it for. I added it to a spare bedroom to create a tv and workout room. I wouldn't use this for daily sleeping, as the padding is not thick enough for prolonged sleeping by an adult. A toddler or small child may find the bed comfortable. The futon is very light weight, so it was not extremely difficult for me to drag the box it came in up a flight of stairs. It comes well packaged and has a cloth cover to protect the fabric. The fabric has a velcro trim around the base of the futon to hold it down, if desired; however, it can't be removed. The corners are cushioned to protect the futon and your walls from damage, which I definitely appreciate. If positioned as a sofa, there is a ledge that is created behind the back of the sofa, which provides room to store items. The legs screw on very easily and were packaged in a zippered pouch made into the base of the futon. I used this same zippered pouch to store the protective cover for future use during a move. It only takes about 5 mins to have the bed setup and ready for use, because it is fully assembled with the exception of the screw-on legs. It is very well made for the price. As previously mentioned, it is very lightweight, so I wouldn't recommend it for use in a playroom, where it might receive a lot of rough play or jumping on it. I don't think that it would last long under such conditions, but would work well for additional seating when you have guests over. The legs are hollow, but sturdy, but again wouldn't last long under rough conditions; however, they could easily be replaced with wooden legs, if desired. This futon would be a great addition to a dorm room (or other small space) and would fit easily under a loft bed. It is definitely an excellent and inexpensive seating solution for a small space. ... show more
