It worked perfect for what I needed it for and that is a handful of uses. This combined with a knee kicker did a pro job and I couldn't be happier. It is flimsy.... I am sure someone that installs carpet would need something more heavy duty.

I’ve done 3 rooms thus far. 2 of the teeth did bend, only after a full stretch. After I noticed it, I did most of the stretching at 3/4, and dialed back the depth of the spikes. Seeing other reviewers pictures of the bent metal pieces that connect the head to the lever I replaced with sturdier/thicker metal. I also used a 5 foot pole clamp to replace the extensions, using the end of the clamp to push against the head of the stretcher with 2x4 and blocking to get to the length I needed, and did not use any of the extensions. ... show more

DO NOT BUY. Piece of junk. Spikes bent, useless. Ended up just using the kicker I had and not this.

This product worked well for me. Instead of purchasing the additional extensions needed to stretch a room 12' by 14', I used a couple of 2"x 4".

    • The price is right and it works well.
Its not professional grade but it works great for the average home owner. I did get a 10ft 1-1/4" EMT conduit and made my own extensions. I did bend a couple of the teeth because I set the teeth depth too deep. I removed the mounting screws and bent them back to their correct position. It was cheaper to purchase the carpet stretcher than hire someone to do it for me. Check out youtube to learn how to stretch your carpet. ... show more

    • Flimsy, incomplete
Although it was fairly easy to put together and easy to use, I wouldn't recommend it. It is very flimsy and unless you have additional tools it would not of worked for what I needed it to do. It stretched the carpet fine, but that was only after I used some 2 X 4s to extend the length of it. It isn't long enough to reach from one wall to the next so I had to bring in the 2 X 4s. It worked with the 2 X4s, but I still had to use a knee kicker to get the carpet laid in well. If you have knee kicker and something to extend the length of this item then it is usable, but otherwise it is kind of worthless. ... show more
