  • My return window is closed and I am very disappointed.
This product has a quality flaw with the plastic face cup which cracks at the bottom from heat. We replaced the first one with a new one and that cracked too-- dropping shards of plastic in to the steam water. We decided to keep the product as it was still functional even though broken but now after 2 months of use the unit does not heat anymore. Plugged in to the socket, it does not light but but slightly heats up without producing any steam. My return window is closed and I am very disappointed. ... show more

  • and I love it!
It came after 3-5 days, and I love it!!! 1. I have extremely oil (facial) skin that put me in very bad skin condition sometimes. Couple months ago I had been suffering cystic acnes for 4-6 months that I had to take antibiotics for a months. They were gone completely. But then, when the summer comes, my skin produces so much oil that I could even make french fries!!! As a result, my acne got back, but this time, they are little tiny bumps on my forehead and cheeks. It does not hurt as cystic acnes or too visible, but it does annoy me. No acne cream would work for this type of acne, I am sure; and, I do not want to come back taking antibiotics again. So, I did some research and it said these acne bumps are caused by clogged pores. SO, i gave this facial steaming method a try to cleanse it up. 2. As I found it online, the best process should be cleansing/ exfoliate -> steaming -> toner -> moisturizer. And here is my way: I cleanse my face and exfoliate it with Olay facial brush (I think the Conair brush will work the same way) during shower. Then I set up the steaming. In the instruction, it said a filling of water up to Max mark would be enough for a 30-minute section, but I usually do about 20-25 mins and I think It is good enough. When hitting On button, it will flash continuously meaning it starts getting hot. After 2-3 mins, it reaches a certain temperature, and the Green light (START button) is on meaning the section starts. After the first 15 mins, i take 2 min break and put my (liquid) lotion on, I massage and tap it on my face so it can be absorbed better when the pores open. Then I continue the rest of the section (like 10-15 mins left). Afterward, I put on moisturizer and massage/ tap it gently again. I recommend to drop some essential oil (actually 2 drops are enough) so the steaming section will be more enjoyable!! The power knob is set at 9 and I think it should not be changed. Once I turned it up to 11 and when the water gets boil, bubbles popped and flashed into my face. Hurt! So, be careful! 3. I am doing it every other day now, but after 2 weeks I will do it only 2 times a week. I have been using it for 3-4 times and I can tell the difference. My skin is getting smooth, some acne bumps have disappeared!!! I will continue using it and hope all of acnes will be gone forever!!! ... show more

  • Happy I bought it
It's compact. It heats up in a fair amount of time. I had another model, different company and it sputtered at me. Too dangerous. I don't think the Conair is capable of doing that. The other one had a hard plastic cone, but where you put the water was hard plastic, couldn't get a confirmation of it not having BPA and it boiled in the plastic. I can't confirm the the Conair doesn't have BPA, but I really like that the water goes into a small stainless steel container. The steam does pass through large holes of plastic but for me, the contact time with the plastic is minimal. Also it doesn't smell at all like plastic. My allergies hated the plastic smell on the other one. The steam is steady, predictable and perfect for me. I could put a towel over my head if I wanted a greater concentration of steam. ... show more

  • Didn't work.
Mine was not working. Followed the instructions precisely. Tried it many times and in different outlets. To ship it back to get a refund or a new one would have cost more than actually buying another. So, I bought another from another brand.

  • Steam? Yes. Facial Sauna System? No...
I bought this item in hopes it would replace a previous facial steamer that I used weekly for my skincare regimen. I was disappointed to see that the device only holds about 4 tablespoons of water (No really). And once the unit heats up, the steam is minimal at best. I bought this for the price but will likely return it as it is not a "Facial Sauna System". 3 stars - only because it does actually steam, but the description should be more clear such as: "A light, warm steam similar to running hot water and holding your face close to the sink." ... show more
