  • Great stimulation for dogs!
Pups learn to take turns & figure out how to solve the puzzle of getting to the treats. Great because there are multiple puzzles, not just one that gets boring quicker. Like all Trixie puzzles, it's well-made & stimulating. Just wish the price was a bit lower.

  • Not durable
There are basically four individual puzzles but two of the four puzzle bases will not lock firmly in place, so that my dog can’t do the puzzle the correct way using the lever because it basically comes off its base when she starts hunting for the treat and trying to actually perform the puzzle. It seems as though some of the plastic pieces that protrude into the base floor are not substantial enough to keep it in place. ... show more

  • Lots of fun
This is a great toy for any dog that needs to have some stimulation. It's also compatible with other puzzles from the same company. Allows you plenty of options for fun and new challenges for your dog.

  • Arrived used/dirty
This product seems nice and sturdy, I was excited for my dog to use it but It was just delivered and looks as if it was somebodies returned product as it looks dirty. You can see dog hairs and crumbs all over it and I just opened up the package. Will be returning and trying some other brand since this was inexcusable and quite lazy from this company. ... show more

  • Already Fun
My skinny, shy, 5 pounder took about 15 minutes before she realized she could open the door with her nose. Those cookies are gone. She hasn’t used her paws yet but when she decides it’s time for another snack she’ll figure out the step. Meanwhile her 15 pound sister and 30 pound cousin are still outside. They will jail break this in seconds because for them might makes right. They literally run right over her. I may wait until my little girl learns all 4 boxes. ... show more

  • Terrible dog puzzle
I've purchased several dog puzzles for my standard poodle. This is so far the most expensive and the worst. The levers for the dogs came off within 60 seconds. The round container comes straight up there's no way to click it into place. So instead of doing the puzzle the dogs just pull it off and eat the treats. It's been used once with my dog and it's complete trash now. Do not recommend. ... show more

  • Love this for my dog!!!!
It makes her think and keeps her occupied. She does not tear it up knowing her treats are inside. I started with just one box at a time because she seemed confused with all the different boxes. I just now added the second box. I put the treat in, show her where it is and open and shut it to show her how to open it. Then I found I had to walk away or she expects me to get it for her, I think. She lays by the box and then all of a sudden she opens it. I think I have to remove the first box cuz she got the treats right away and is now ignoring the second box. But it is very interesting training her - we are both learning. She has five breeds in her and is very smart. A dog rescued from TN. We did a DNA. LOL. ... show more

  • 2 out of 4 don't work so well
First off, I love the idea of these puzzle games. Looking at the competition, I think TRIXIE products stand out above the others for providing a thinking challenge rather than a paw-at-it-till-it-feeds-you challenge. That said, two of the four puzzles are fairly easily duped/poorly designed. (When I say "poorly," I mean not up to the standard of the other two. They're on the right track, but could use some tweaking.) First, the good: the two boxes with lids (one sliding, one flipping) work well as intended. My dogs have not been able to figure out how to "cheat" on these two by banging on them. Lots of thoughtful touches, like a flush lid on the flip-up box, or a raised lip on the sliding box, strike the right balance of ease and feasibility. The sliding knob part of the sliding lid box is also excellent. The bad: The drawer on the tower toy does not stand up to abuse. The clear plastic cylinder can pop out of the base with a modestly grabbing paw, which is not how it's to be solved (it's only held in place by a few plastic tabs). Also, the yellow lid on top where you drop the food into sits high, exposing a lip that my dog can casually pick open with a claw (I think this is a manufacturing flaw, but it looks like it could be common). Again, not the intended solution (she's supposed to pull out the drawer and have the treat drop to the bottom and slide out a hole.) The pedal tower suffers from two issues: 1) when pressed, the tower does not always eject the treat. It should probably be designed more like a catapult than it is (the treat can get caught on the lip and stay inside if the press is too gentle). 2) The dog can totally pick the treat out of the hole without pushing the pedal. It's the first thing they'll try, and they succeed easily. The instructions anticipate this problem, and encourage you "not to let the dog lick the treat out of the hole." The problem with this warning is that you're supposed to provide encouragement so the dog keeps trying. My dog doesn't have the nuance down of "good girl! but no, not like that! don't do that! bad girl! keep trying!" I'm sure many dogs lack the finesse of accepting encouragement while being dissuaded from taking the obvious road. For $35, having half the toy not work well is less than ideal. I still think TRIXIE stuff is the most well thought out in the genre, and will be ordering one or two of the other more modestly priced toys. I think the chess set is next for me. ... show more
