  • Fantastic game for all ages!
The game is very easy to intuitively understand but also has enough depth for adults to play by themselves! The components and build quality are top notch! This is a game designed for some wear & tear. The art is amazing. The facts & historical moments are fascinating. The box and added plastic insert is awesome. It packs up & sets up very satisfyingly. It plays quick and breezy at a light/medium complexity weight. Honestly I'm very satisfied, very impressed, and my adult friends & I had fun! The only real con is that this game isn't so addicting or complex to withstand tons of playing for "advanced" gamers. If the theme doesn't already keep you coming back to the table don't expect the gameplay to, in my opinion. The gameplay is great but not a ton of depth. ... show more

  • Highly Recommended Family Game - Simple Rules yet so tactical
My wife and I love to play complex board games as we do enjoy the puzzling aspect and how it stimulates our brain into thinking about how to be efficient. This game is not something we would think of playing, but I personally purchase this for a couple of reasons. First, we do like Trekking The World as it reminds us of several other games we like, combine into one. So we decided to pick this up expecting it won't disappoint. And second, we need more welcoming games and we could pull out in case our family members wished to play. We played this game more than 5x now as it becomes my niece's favorite. She was not a board gamer but she enjoys the puzzle aspect of the game, especially in fulfilling your itinerary. This is not the game my wife and I would think of playing together, but I rated this as a 5-star as it really delivers as a family (lightweight) game. That even non-gamers or casual gamers would enjoy and would make them more interested in discovering what board gaming has to offer. Component-wise, I personally am so fascinated with the production quality. This was the first board game I had with a neoprene mat, and best of all, it does have a functional insert to store the components. Hand's down a top-notch production. I wish this would be the norm for all board games. Again, as a heavy gamer, though not the game I would always prefer playing, I'd still highly recommend this for families who want to play something fast, and simple yet offers a good amount of decision space. ... show more

  • Great game!
This is a very high quality, well designed game. This game is really fun. Lots of replay. My family has really enjoyed playing it. Amazing images on the cards. All of the pieces are great quality. Everything fits perfectly in the box, it was very thought out. I highly recommend this game!

  • Easy to learn and play. Pretty fun but nothing spectacular.
It's a nice take on card order games. I like the learning about history aspect too however after 5:00 or 6:00 plays it isn't one that we're going back to a lot.

  • Fantastic in every way
My family and I love everything about this game. We're big board game fans and have a good sized collection, but this is one that we keep coming back to. The game play isn't the most complex, but it does offer a variety of different win strategies so it's approachable from several angles. The build quality is among the best I've ever seen -- every component is high quality and feels absolutely amazing. This game is especially great when playing with others who aren't as embedded in the hobby as we are. It's a great starter game for friends and family, and it makes a great first impression on everyone we show it to. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Great family game
Great game. It plays well for people who love gaming as well as casual gamers. Very easy to learn and play. You can choose to read more or less of the history depending on who is playing and wants to listen to it. Even the kids can play.

  • Buy, play, and never look back!
I just received this game today from Amazon as part of a pre order. While I have not played the game, yet…let me tell you about the contents. The box is built heavy duty style; will hold up great over the generations (trekking through history, ancestors, generations-see what I did there). Anyways, all the cards have a linen finish to them which I love; it makes the game feel like a high end quality game. The center board for the time clock is thick and not easy to bend. You would literally need to force it to bend. The tokens are detailed. I always love that the trekking games have a container with a lid on it for all the pieces once you take them out. The mat that is also used to play is like a huge mouse pad. Idk how else to explain it. The rubber on the bottom and this silky screen print on top. I think it will hold up better than the normal “card board” versions of gams. And the cards?!!!! What can I say, the graphics are absolutely gorgeous!!! I can never say enough about their cards. I bought Trekking the World bc I live traveling and it is my favorite game to date. The other reason i bought it was when I looked it up, the cards designs and graphics were bar none. It feels like being there. When it came to trekking through history I was going to pass on it because I am not a history person at all. But when i watched a clip and it showed the cards it sold me. Between the graphics again and the great company who made the world version, this solidified me on purchasing this game. I know I will find many things to like about this game as the history pieces are short blurbs of information and great graphics to make the learning experience an actual fun one! Even if you’re not a history person buy this game. I bet you’ll find out you’ll like it! Or you can always buy my favorite game first…Trekking the World! ... show more

  • Surprisingly fun for a history themed game!
I have always been interested in the Trekking games by Underdog games, but they looked too much like Ticket to Ride. Trekking Through History, however, was different enough for us to try it. We are a math/science family, but this game was still a huge hit for us. We the game was easy to understand and it felt great when you could achieve a long timeline of events or complete longer lines on your sheet for bonus points. The artwork is fantastic and the facts about the events on the back were interesting to read. It also plays super quickly (under an hour tops) and has interesting decisions and tension along the way. Definitely a recommended game from us! ... show more
