  • A Solid Figure, Worthy of the Shelf Space
I grew up with Transformers Cybertron and Metroplex was always a favorite of the original line, this figure wont be for fans who only care about Generation one, but I think its something that really FEELS like the fully realized version of the character now that he towers over most, if not every other figure I own. The biggest thing I appreciate about this update is just how solid he feel's in every mode, standing strong even with his Axe held far out in one hand. The Excavator mode rolls wonderfully and just feels weighty and quality. The "Work" mode was the one I was least interested in as it wasn't part of the original toy in this exact form, though I can't say its bad its just the mode I have mine spend the least amount of time in, still just as solid as the other two modes and look super cool to boot. Over all I can fully recommend this figure to anyone who's looking for a Titan that might be a bit "out there" for the size class. Is it a city? no, Is it "generation 1 accurate" obviously not, but those are the exact reasons I feel in love with the original as a kid, and why Im even more in love with this stellar update. This is an update to MY Metroplex, and anyone saying it's not good simply for the fact its not the original needs to remember Transformers isn't just limited to the stuff from their childhoods, and that this is a wonderful step in making sure life long fans like myself who are a good few years younger than the days of G1 have their favorites brought into the modern age too. ... show more

  • Better than expected.
I held off on getting this guy for a long time, but after having him in hand, I must say he's waaaay more awesome than I expected. He looks cool, he's huge, he feels heavy and solid, and he's got tight ratchet joints. I've owned most of the Titan figures and I think I'd place him in my top 3 with Omega Supreme and Trypticon. ... show more

  • Great perportions
Here is another Big Titan. We have gotten quite a few Titans at this point. This one stands apart a bit from the rest. Cybertron Metroplex is a much less stocky figure than the other Titans that we have had. This version of Metroplex has body proportions much more in line with a standard Transformer than his larger Titan brothers. He looks like he is actually ready to run into action, and not just lumber is way in there. He comes with, what has to be the largest weapon ever created for a Transformer. His "Sparkdrinker" axe is massively long. As long as Metroplex is tall. And the spinning blade on the front would be no match for any competition. There are a number of handles for Metroplex to hold the weapon, and it can attach to his back as well. His face transforms to give him a welding mask. It is a good looking change for him, and it tucks nicely out of the way for his regular face. He needs that welding mask for when he transforms into work mode. Sparkdrinker breaks down into two pieces and becomes longer attachment tools for his hands. And then there is the vehicle mode, where he turns into a massive excavator. Now, this is not the most glorious of vehicles, but this is a great mode for a guy that just wants to spend his days building. This mode works great with the Core Class figures. He looks even more massive with little Transformers running around all over him. This guy made a great addition to my collection of Transformers. ... show more

  • Really Large Transformer
My spouse also has a couple more of these large transformer-type toys in addition to this one. They are toys made of plastic, and even if they are larger in size, the price is a little on the high side. However, given that it is more robust and has greater balancing capabilities, I have to admit that this one appears to have been constructed better than some of the earlier ones. Unlike some of the others, you can play with this one. A large, really cool axe is included with the transformer. It can be placed in his hands or on his back. When he enters work mode, the face changes to provide him with a welding mask. This is an incredibly cool toy that would delight any child or collector. Just don't lose the instructions as transforming it back and forth can get confusing. ... show more
