  • Good enough for in-Town repeaters!
Perfectly good antenna. It is pretty low profile and not hard to assemble. I wasn’t looking for anything too crazy, just wanted a clear shot to the neighboring repeaters on 2m and 70cm. It works fine for that. I wanted it to blend in with the roof a bit more so I painted on some black FlexSeal and it looks nice. The radials were solid, I wasn’t crazy about the connection they had to the hub. It seemed like some wind vibration could loosen the nuts, so i put a tiny dab of silicone just to fix them in place a little bit better without making it permanent. I also wrapped some ProxyCast coax wrap around the PL259 connection and then put it in the air. I have run 50 watts through this antenna, but I hardly need more than 5. ... show more

  • very low SWR..
This seems to be a very good antenna, it is well made and fairly easy to install.....the SWR is really low with this antenna and transmits and receives well ....I only wish the mounting tube on the antenna was longer, it does not give the antenna much support when mounting it...swr is an average of 0.1.4 which is great....no problem reaching stations 25 miles away.... ... show more

  • Works as it should
works good on 144 mhz but not that well on 70 cm

  • Better than many reviews suggest.
Date: 8/2/2024 Many of the reviews with low marks say that the threads for the radials were poor. I did not find this to be the case. I'm a hobbyist machinist and would be satisfied with the quality of the threads. The SO-239 female socket is a very snug fit which I consider a good thing. A less snug fit would not have good electrical contact. The antenna was purchased on the recommendation of another HAM operator. Just received today, much sooner than expected and I have not installed it yet so no information on performance. I'm not knocking anything off because I haven't tried it yet. Delivery directly from the seller took 3 days. ... show more

  • Solid 2m and 70cm dual band base antenna
Very pleased with this base antenna. Did not want a behemoth antenna for my roof, rather a more subtle antenna that works well. It looks great with a modest 3 foot mast and am getting outstanding SWR in both 70cm and 2m bands. Also getting very respectable results with GMRS frequencies (462-467) 1.5 to 1.7 SWR. Just a note that MURS frequencies (151 -154) will see higher SWR's (3.5 - 6.5 on my radio). Not a negative as this antenna is not tuned for MURS. Just wanted to point that out for the curious. Overall an excellent base antenna. ... show more
