    • Great idea, but things to consider...
Good idea and looks to be very durable, but a couple things I wanted to bring up... First, make sure it fits. This one is about 6" too long for my Airstream's step. And with the way it has to be attached you can't really cut it to length without having to re-cut holes for the straps. Then, the straps...if there was a more awkward and frustrating way to attach this thing to your steps I couldn't think of it. There's no way you can plan on leaving this on full time...you'd have three lengths of strap just hanging down and flapping in the breeze. Then, just think about what this does...GREAT solution for a quick brush off of your boots or shoes before going in the trailer. But it takes up and consumes an entire step. So don't ever plan on going in and out barefoot unless you have really long legs and can just skip that step. So all in all it works great for what it is, just think about your use case and if it's the RIGHT solution. ... show more

    • This is a great addition as a first step in a cleaner RV, pun intended!
This cleaner is an excellent idea that works really great even though I ordered the wrong size. Ans with that said, it was not an issue to cut the mat down a bit, punch a new hole for the straps, and get it installed just in time for major rains and muddy shoes. Hosing it down to clean is easy and given the amount of muck it takes off my boots, I expected it to be a pain to clean the mat, but it's not. the design grabs the mud and muck and after it's dry, a quick rinse with the hose is all it needs to be back to newish. There isn't a lot more to say about this step other than make sure you measure your steps before ordering, and after you have the right size, get one. ... show more

This seemed like a great idea to lessen the amount of dirt in the RV, but the texture is a little rough (definitely not for barefoot use) and it doesn’t sit flat on the step. (hopefully you can see in the pictures). Every time I exit the RV it’s a bit uncomfortable as the material is not flat on the step, so it gives a little at first, and then a bit more as you compress the plastic ‘texture’. Overall the jury is still out for me…I’m not sure I’ll keep it long term, but may try a few things to get it to lay flat. ... show more

Got tired of tracking the outdoors into the trailer. This thing does a nice job cleaning the pine needles, dirt and other debris from shoes to help keep the inside floor cleaner. We were concerned about the dog's paws on this as it is pretty stiff and pointy, so we decided to mount it to the side of the stairs. We have the fold out solid steps, and it strapped right onto the side no problem. And there's enough clearance when folding them in, so no need to remove when not in use.     • Keeps mud out of the camper!
We have serious mud in the mountains. If I had one of these on my front steps I'd use it during mud season. The fit can be adjusted with an exacto knife. The texture and backing is very heavy duty but should flatten if the item is put in the sun or exposed to gentle heat. Works great but don't try barefoot entry with this on steps. Nice that it comes with straps but it seems to me that a self-adhesive on back would be better. ... show more

I only say mostly because I'm a realist. This step cover is about as good as it can get for removing dirt from shoes before I go in the camper. We don't sit in the camper when we go. Even in the rain, we sit outside and enjoy the outdoors. We are, however, in and out many times throughout the day. This will help scrub the dirt off our shoes and keep the inside clean. I was super impressed with the packaging and instructions. The bags were labeled for the straps to attach it, the bag for cleaning up the loose ends of the attachment straps, and the bonus reflecting tape. The installation straps are much better quality than I expected, including what I think are aluminum clips that were a cinch to feed the strap through and tighten. The instructions were clear, easy to follow, and I had it installed withing 5 minutes of taking it out of the box. It was a nice touch having the extra hook and loop straps to clean up the excess from the installation straps and make a clean installation. The mat itself is the perfect size for my standard steps (duh, standard) and I expect the slight curl (it looks exaggerated in the photo, but is probably 1/8" lift in the center) will relax with a little sun and use. This is an excellent product so far and I don't expect it to let me down. ... show more
