You pull the good tire up onto Trailer Aid Plus in order to raise the flat tire up 5.5 inches for changing. Trailer Aid Plus lifts 1 inch higher than our original Trailer Aid, making it perfect for routine maintenance on RV trailers; this tool even lets you change a flat tire on your horse trailer without removing your horses. Moreover, it is quite user-friendly and easy to store away when not in use. Please note that this product will not work with trailers with narrow axles with equalizing leaf springs or axles with spacing greater than 36 inches axle to axle. I bought this after reading about some road flats on campers. Didnt know it existed b4 I finished a cross country trip. It now goes along on all our trips but hopefully wont need it. More of a peace of mind gadget.

I just used this ramp. It does lift the other tire off the ground but it can be tricky. On my first 2 tries I backed up too far and got the ramp wedged between the front and rear wheels. I made the mistake of trying to get the rear tire back up on the ramp by pulling forward. By the time I figured out that wasn't going to work I had 2 deep gouges in my asphalt from the bolts that are screwed into the bottom of the ramp used to keep it from sliding while pulling onto the ramp. All of those bolts ripped out of the plastic. I learned that if you overshoot the ramp, continue going the same direction so the other tire climbs up and over the ramp then start over. The ramp is made just like all the other yellow plastic things for RVs. The bottom is a web of plastic and mostly open. I doubt the ramp would work on sand or wet ground so don't throw away your jack. Gravel may be a problem too if it is uneven. The ramp only lifted my other tire about an inch on asphalt. ... show more

This product is a must have for anyone with a trailer. After having a blowout and needing roadside assistance, I decided to purchase this product. I have used it to test it and it works as advertised. I have a toy hauler with a GVWR of 9,900 pounds and this ramp is sturdy.
