  • Works right out of the box
Model: AC1200
I have a router that hands out DHCP that I'm connecting the TP-Link AP too. The instructions do say that if your router is a DHCP Server that the TP-Link will automatically configure itself to turn of DHCP so it doesn't hand out IP's. The instructions worked as described. I did not have to turn off the DHCP server on the TPLink when in AP mode. Previous reviews said you had to so TP-Link must have upgraded to firmware to correct the issue. I had to walk my 87 yo mother through the process and we were successful. Just needed to connected to it to change Pass Phrase. Everything else was a simple as plugging in power and ethernet cable. Excellent experience. ... show more

  • Great value and works well but will require a configuration change for most users
Model: N300
A great value especially with the included PoE injector. It comes with DHCP enabled, and IP address 192.168.0.254. In most home network situations where the provider supplies you with a WiFi router, DHCP will already be enabled so you will need to turn it off on the access point if you want internet access. This seems to be the most common configuration so I am not sure why TP Link turns it on by default. Other than that, it is a great device with a good number of configuration options for unique situations. So long as you are comfortable with having to do a bit of configuration, it's a great buy. ... show more

  • Customer Support is Outstanding
Model: AC1200
I had ordered two AC1200 APs. One worked without issue. Very easy to set up and was exactly what I was looking for. The second one did have some problems. I contacted TP-Link support and after some troubleshooting, I now have a replacement AC1200 on the way. The support agent I was emailing with was very knowledgeable and quick to respond. They answered all of my questions about the device and about the process of returning it. These AP were not the first TP-Link devices I have bought but they will not be the last. Thank you. ... show more

  • Good performance, especially for the price
Model: AC1200
I bought this access point to provide wireless in the shop building in my back yard. The building is far enough away that wireless reception there is not reliable. I have been using a pair of long haul transmitters/receivers (Ubiquiti NanoStations) to transmit and receive the internet signal to a switch that my security cameras are connected to. I connected this access point to the switch after I performed a simple configuration in my house, and it works perfectly. I now have a solid internet connection for my phone and computer in the outlying building. ... show more

  • Stupid Easy - Just Works
Model: AC1200
It's been a while since I have purchased a WIFI server for the house but our old WIFI router (which I use strictly as an Access Point) was not performing well. It was very old 10+ so no worries, it paid for itself. I was surprised to find that inexpensive APs for home use are now a thing and so I looked at the Netgear offerings. I was turned off by many of the reviews that mentioned having to connect the device to the internet and create an account before being able to configure the Netgear AP, so I went instead to TPLink. This little gem does the job just fine. The configuration is super simple for all the different modes. The only issue I initially had was that I connected it to my local network. Don't do this. Just power it on and connect your laptop via the WIFI SSID on the label as instructed. Otherwise the name resolution does not work. Once it's fully configured, then connect it to your network. If for some reason you have to have the LAN connection, you will need to go to your DHCP server (typically your router) and find the IP address of the TPLink. Note: If you google this you are looking for the DHCP client list or the DHCP lease list. Then go to the web site using the IP address to get to the configuration page. It worked so well as our house AP that I bought another for the shed as a range extender. Works great and provides perfect network connectivity to my Raspberry Pi exhaust fan controller. ... show more

  • TP-Link WiFi
Model: N300
Super easy to install and setup. I use it for an access point plugged into the LAN system I had installed in my house. Signal was weak on the 3rd floor so added this on the second floor solving my problem. Was a great bargain. Fast delivery. Very happy.

  • Very Pleased
Model: AC1200
I installed this in my detached shop, and connected to my home router via a previously installed underground ethernet cable. It couldn't have been much easier. Using the supplied POE injector I was able to supply power via the underground cable from inside my house. This allowed me to mount this access point high up on the wall out of the way without having to be near an AC outlet. My download speeds in the shop went from 25mbps using the house WiFi to almost 300mbps using this access point. The user interface is pretty simple, after installation I changed the SSID and WiFi password to match the house, and now I have a great home WiFi system. ... show more

  • Basic Wifi for a bargain
Model: N300
I have so many devices I was saturating my built in WiFi. I bought this one as a secondary unit for my wife's laptop connectivity from the other end of the house. I installed this one closer to her desk area and it works good for her business use of her laptop.
