I bought this router after upgrading my laptop's wifi card to an Intel BE200NGW card. My laptop was having an issue where I would get full Wifi speed (500mbps) when freshly connecting to the Wifi (a 5ghz only band) but then drop to 10mbps soon after. I'm not really sure what was happening, but I dont have that issue of the internet slowing down anymore after getting this router and connecting to the Dual band 2.4ghz & 5ghz MLO (multi-link operation) signal. I get 500mbps wifi speed all the time now, and i think it's because my 2.4ghz wifi band isnt interfering with my 5ghz band now that it is connected to both bands simultaneously through MLO. This router doesn't come with the 6ghz band, but I wanted wifi 7 for the better stability and reliability of MLO with 2.4ghz & 5ghz, even if there is no 6ghz band with this router. I don't need the faster wifi speed of a 6ghz band because my 500mbps internet plan isn't up to snuff for it anyways. 5ghz band is fine for my 500mbps internet plan. My router is in my room so i can easily get full 500gbps wifi speed. I also have a OneMesh Wifi extender that automatically connects to your device as you move through the house if the signal to it is better. It uses the same wifi name as the router ... show more

Just a FYI.I get much better speed test results using this router than with my old Linksys.Also i am not testing from a brower but the speedtest app for the PC. Brower results area about 200mgbits slower than with the PC app.On my 2 win pcs i get about 950/941mbits. On my win 10 i am getting 1261/1136 mbits. i have Glofiber 1.2gbit plan.These tests are from the Ashburn test site, other test sites vary.I hope this info is useful. ... show more

My old router was starting to have a hard time, not meshing well with our wifi range extenders and our ever growing household of 20+ devices and dropping off regularly. I don't have any wifi 7 devices but it's good to be a little future proof. So far the home network is performing better and i was able to set up smb storage with the USB which is great ... show more

I'm sure this is not a problem with that unit itself it's my ISP. The device would not pull any IP information from my cable modem no matter what. Had the same exact problem with a WiFi 6 Linksys router. I currently have a WiFi 5 router which is now a bottleneck and not getting the speed I'm paying for. Tech support said my cable modem is binding to the old router and the ISP has to release . Since it's a modem a Hitron CODA56 I bought and setup, my ISP will not provide tech support so I'm dead in the water. At the very minimum you have to rent a cable modem, optical network terminal or DSL modem from your ISP to be able to use third party routers. They've figured out a way to create a monopoly on their services. Good luck to anyone using all third party equipment to connect to their service provider. So I'm returning the device and holding out for fiber Internet to be available in my area and rent the ISP's equipment. Note that some of the funds came from a $10 gift card balance. That has not been refunded. I imagine that is a forfeiture on Amazon's part as a cost of returning the item. I will be posting an honest review on Trust Pilot about this. ... show more

Still dropping throughput. at my modem (even in Bridge mode) I'm getting 1300Megabits. this router is a foot away using cat8 Patch cables and I'm losing about 400 Megabits with overhead. THIS IS UNHEARD OF!!!!!

Set up was pretty easy. Range is good and there's a lot of flexibility in setup and good features for keeping your network safe. Even some rudimentary parental controls. I have been happy with TP-Link products and after a month, I'm happy with this one too.
