  • A Happy Customer
Style: AX1500 WiFi 6 Extender
I love watching TV because I'm retired. I cut the cord from cable so I only do streaming. I hated that I got alot of buffering and it made it to where watching was very annoying. So I got this wifi extender . It was very easy to set up for me a 60 yr old. The buffering has almost completely stopped. Things load much more faster and watching is back to normal. I really recommend ... show more

  • Fairly good Wi-Fi extender, with quirks
Style: AX1500 WiFi 6 Extender
Now I’m going to review this as a regular person, who is trying to extend their Wi-Fi and has moderate knowledge of networking in their house. Now when I said this particular device out, I had to do some things that were out of the realm of basic, by changing my bandwidth range and channel in order to get this working to pick up my 5G bandwidth signal from my router. Now, while this is not particularly difficult when you know what the issue is - there was no indication that this was the problem from the extender at all - it just didn’t work until you fixed it. I just happen to have done the research and new that indeed was the problem. Most people are not going to be able to figure this out and troubleshoot it without pulling your hair out. Because of this I have to give it a hit to set up. And the customer service line hold queue was just incredibly long, I would not recommend seeking out customer service here. Now for the routers Wi-Fi signal and usage? It’s good, nothing particularly special but good. It has a hard time picking up signals through even the smallest of walls, however it does a pretty decent job of maintaining most of the band width of your Internet signal without dropping too much speed. you may also name the extender the same name as your router so it automatically switches properly and the devices that you are using. The one drawback here is that your device tends to gravitate towards the extender and the original router even if the speeds would be faster sometimes. All depends on the placement, and the particular household. It’s best to do your own research here and try out different spots to place the extender and your router if you could move it. This works with standard Internet carrier routers, Comcast Xfinity and FiOS both trialed, and the only issues there are needing to adjust the channels for 5G on the router - which nothing and nobody will tell you about. Look up changing your routers default channels if you’re having issues connecting 5G on this extender. ... show more

  • Whole home Wi-Fi now!
Style: AX1500 WiFi 6 Extender
I bought my first TP-Link AX1500 to extend the Wi-Fi in my home to the other end of my house. It worked so well that I bought a second one to extend the Wi-Fi into my husband’s man cave in the basement! The quality of my Wi-Fi is as if I’m connected to my original router and is actually more stable. I’m extremely satisfied with my investment in this product. ... show more

  • Needs to be higher in the room
Style: AX1500 WiFi 6 Extender
I am all for cheap and easy mesh routing especially when I own a fair number of tp-link products and I believe this would do the job IF it were not at ankle level in the house. It would fair much better as a plug in unit with a cord so it could be placed higher in a room rather than below my knees. Seems to get knocked out of the outlet simply by brushing up against it because it's so large. Had to use double sided tape to try and hold it in place. It works but the idea is flawed. ... show more

  • Good little Extender. Can be used as a Ethernet/MoCA Wireless Access Point for stunning performance.
Style: AX1500 WiFi 6 Extender
A good little extender. 4 star only due to not liking the plug formfactor forcing a wall AC plate or power strip mount. How about a nice table stand?. LOVE that it's easy to set up as Wireless Access Point and not just a dual-band wireless extender. I use ethernet as the source rather than the base-router's wireless for max possible performance and ultra-low lag (preempts degradation from residential walls, doors, furniture, other device RF noise). I get crazy-good performance (1-3 GBps) using a separate MoCA adapter over existing home cable by plugging a MoCA adapter into a cable TV wire splitter and then just plug in the ethernet cable from it into the RE505X ethernet port. Features I'd like to see: Ability to edit in device client name directly from Admin screen (some older network devices do not report their names with the MAC address client list). It would also be nice to see the actual per device data/rate and loss stats from the admin screens and have a bandwidth stress test facility feature in the Admin screen. I see occasional out of time order system logging "quirks" on the admin screen (not sure if I caused that when I was tinkering around with it and rebooting etc.). I also get occasional "DHCP Detection Failed" log warnings that reset by next check that does not seem to cause any operational issues. Nice that the 5Ghz band supports the latest WIFI-6 standard (802.11AX) for mind numbing low lag performance when sourced over ethernet as an access point or a really good inside of home point to point wireless extender. Another nice thing is that it has 3 levels of RF power so one does not have to be running high power all day long and subjecting oneself and other devices to all that RF energy unless its really needed to get out far from the main network (backyard, pool, utility garage etc.). A great little extender that won't bust the wallet and when smartly set up is super high performance. ... show more
