I needed a bedside lamp that I could turn on without using my hands too much. Arthritis made it difficult to turn my old lamp on. These lamps just require a gentle touch on the base to turn them on. Bonus for me...they took up less space on my table, had three levels of brightness and a charging port for my phone. I haven't had to replace the bulb yet, so I hope that is not a struggle when it is needed. The bulb flickers at the brightest setting until it warms up but that has not been a real problem for me because I do not usually use the brightest setting.
