New Review: Small, cute design, serves it purposes in the Los Angeles area. I was struggling with making this work, as it would stop and I could not turn it back on. They should mention this in the manual and on the product page, but this unit has a temperature sensor that will makes the unit stop once it reaches the desired temperature, saving energy. Every time you turn the AC on or OFF, it will stop for 3 minutes, to help give longevity to the condenser as well, which I am sure is a good thing. In COOLING MODE, after you reach the desired temperature, it will not turn on again for at least the 3 minutes to save the condenser longevity, and until the temperature rises again. You can either set the temperature lower, or change to DRY MODE to make it run, but remember the DRY MODE is the DEHUMIDIFIER mode, which will create more water. The unit also has the FAN mode, which will only blow the air inside the room. The unit is very symmetrical and small, like all others, it has the standard large hose blowing air outside (I wish they would make a smaller one and sell separately), very clean, and it is obviously noisy, but not like many other units out there. I use for my bedroom, in Los Angeles, and it is honestly enough to cool it very well and VERY quickly. It evaporates the water automatically, so no need to dump it. BUT REMEMBER, I live in Los Angeles, which is not too humid. Over all, I was worried about this, but so far, I love it, really do. It seems to have decent quality, so I hope it lasts for a long time! I will probably only use it for about 1 month out the year and put it away, but so far, I am loving it. Original Review: First of all. This is pretty small, beautiful, but the bad reviews are true. Unit turns off completely every 5 to 10 minutes. Will not turn on again for 20 or 30, no matter what you do. You can plug it off and back on, reset, press all buttons. The compressor will not work again for 20 to 30 minutes. It only works when it wants. It will work for 5 to 10 min, then turn off and will not turn on again for another 30 minutes or so... it varies. Terrible. FAN and DEHUMIDIFIER will work, but NOT the cooling AC. Seems like it is by design. I did not believe it, so I purchased it... but not YOU BELIEVE ME, the 10,000 BTU works this way. I put mine on a shelf, back is 6" from wall ( duct length, too). Directions say 12" minimum. Duct gets HOT!!!!! Lower right side of unit gets warm. Garage was Garage 95 this morning. This afternoon, 85 ( unit cycles on/off. Also set at 85). Outside now 105. Remote easy and simple to use. 4 stars because of heat output along with all the cold. Going to insulate duct tomorrow. Day 2. Duct insulation works great, nice and cool. Used both vehicles, opened door 4 times, outside its 115. Garage 95, unit still 85. Hasn't shut off. Way undersized for intended purpose. We have a sunroom that is not and cannot be (without a lot of cost) heated and cooled by our home HVAC system. This was added to give us heat & cooling and we love it! The only issue came with some shipping damage (broken plastic piece for window) but the seller was super responsive in a very timely manner & easy to communicate with. All was made right very quickly. HINT: Take photos of the box when it arrives IF there is any damage. As to set-up, I was able to set it up on my own with a tiny bit of help at the end to put the exhaust pipe on (needed someone inside and someone outside for our set-up). The machine does have a drain so keep that in mind when you set it up. We raised it up on a stable platform and used part of the drain pipe to allow it to drain into a bucket. It is a no muss no fuss now to drain. We truly are impressed with this machine and very pleased with our purchase and the seller! ... show more

I used this AC unit for maybe 2 weeks last year and i tried to use it this year but the pump continually over heats, thus blowing only room temperature air. The exhaust hose gets hot so if you plan on using this it has to be directly next to a window, using the full length of pipe that comes with it will result in your room being supremely hot. It's very counter productive and seems like a massive waste of energy. If this is your only option go for it, if you can get a window unit I'd definately recommend that far more. Overall I feel a waste of $350 and my room is still hot. 92 today :/ ... show more

    • Not Quiet But Works Well!

I personally wasn't looking for a quiet A/C unit. I mainly bought this particular unit because I have a horizontally sliding window and this was perfect for that. If you're looking for a quiet unit this is not it. It's the loudest unit in my home (the other two are you're standard hang from the window A/C units). However it blows really cold air and blows HARD! I can turn the fan to a low setting but..eh..I just let it do it's thing. It only last for a minute or so. ... show more
