  • Great helmet for the price
Color: Flat Black Flag Size: Large
Fits well and is light weight. Sun visor works well with glasses

  • Respect, honor, and glory on a budget
Color: Flat Black Flag Size: Small
This helmet is great. It looks cool, feels nice and comfy on my melon. Doesn't turn in the wind. Having a tinted visor on it not only helps me see better on sunny days, but can add an extra layer of protection on days when the bugs are swarming. I don't recommend it at night though, as it's pretty dark. I also haven't seen the visor fog up yet, and I rode through some pretty thick and cold fog up into the mountains. It's got a few issues though. First, make sure that you order the smaller size, especially if you're at the edge of the next size up. Otherwise, it looks like a huge bowl on top of your head. Next, don't pull the visor down too hard. It'll pop right out of the slip and stay stuck with a visible line of sight to the sun that you're trying to avoid. You'll have to pull over and take it off to force it back into the slip. Speaking of visor, the shape of the visor has a weird bulbous/convex shape that actually messes with your vision on the road, so use it sparingly. The strap isn't as comfortable as I would like. I'll probably order some sort of padding for it to to keep it from tearing the skin on my neck and chin. I just keep it really tight, because it does pick up wind. I can feel it wanting to be pushed back at high speeds, so I make sure that my strap is nice and tight. Finally, mounting an intercom/headset is a bit of a pain as the only place where you can slide the fitting into is closer to the rear rather than on the side as I would have liked, but it still works and looks good. Other than that, it's easy to clean and makes you look like a badass, ready to hunt down those outlaws who don't respect your roads (self defense skills not included). Gives you a bit more respect from the other riders (body of 'The Rock' also not included). As much as I enjoy being admired by my fellow bro, chicks don't care what you wear on your head. They just want to see what you have between your legs. ... show more

  • Helmet is smaller than the size chart says....
Color: Flat Black Flag Size: Large
It's a really nice looking helmet, the flag design is on both sides of the helmet and is very subtle, and the visor is dark when you put it down, but don't rely on the size chart listed. I wear a 7 1/2 hat, so according to the size chart I should wear a Large. Ordered it, waited for it, was excited, only to put on a helmet that squeezed my head to sit really high up and look silly, and the chin strap choked me when I put it on (I thought about getting a picture to post but couldn't bring myself to do it lol). If you wear a 7 1/2 get the extra Large... -----edit----- Ok, so I sent back the Large helmet and got a replacement XL and have been wearing it for a little over a month now. I wanted to like this helmet, I really did. I like the design, and in theory I liked the flip down sun visor so that I could keep the clear lenses in my glasses for night time and use the built in visor during the day. The positive is that the visor is pretty dark, and since my eyes are pretty sensitive to bright light that's important. Here's the negative - I'm not sure if it's because of the shape of the visor or what, but I get a LOT more wind blowing straight into my eyes than I do with just a regular pair of sunglasses on. I figured it would block more wind because the visor is bigger than my Oakley half jackets, but the Oakleys actually block more wind from my eyeballs than the visor does. Weird. Also, I noticed that when the wind blows the visor tends to vibrate, and it kind of blurs my vision a bit. Only thing I can figure is it is because it's attached to the helmet so it blows around a bit, but all I know is I don't get that effect with sunglasses but in strong wind I do with the visor. It's a comfortable helmet, it's light, and with sunglasses on I like how it feels, but honestly I would prefer a $35 Skid Lid that is a bit thinner as far as the profile goes because it doesn't have the extra little bit for the visor to slide up inside. It's not a bad helmet, but I won't buy another one. ... show more

  • Not loose that it feels like it rattles around without the chin strap cinched up ...
Color: Flat Black Flag Size: Large
On Sizing: I ordered a large, you should know that I wear a 7 1/2 hat size with a short hair cut. The large size fit my head well. Snug. Not tight enough to give you the headache from an over tight helmet. Not loose that it feels like it rattles around without the chin strap cinched up tight. On Looks: good looking helmet. But since it is a DOT half helmet that means there is about 1" of padding between your head and outer layer. This is NORMAL for actual melts and you do get a bit of the "mushroom look" with it. But once I drop the lens/visor down it actually mitigates that. The Visor. Heard lots of complains in the reviews about the Visor being blurry to the point of unusable. And yes, if you pull it out of the box and put it on and drop the visor it seems blurry! But this was not really the plastic. I cleaned the visor with lens wipes (for glasses, camera lenses) and removed whatever oily substance was on the plastic and it is MUCH better! Is it perfect like a pair of polarized 200 dollar sunglasses? no. But it is clear enough that I have ridden 100 miles with it through traffic and on the highway and feel perfectly comfortable. This is great for me as my regular glasses are fairly small and dont block the wind, but I can wear them behind this visor and the wind block is great around the eyes. The chin strap: it is a typical config with two D fasteners that you have to pull the strap through. I wish more helmet manufacturers would just go to a quick release already, but since this is pretty normal I am not going to ding this helmet. Value: Decent value. I bought 3 different helmets on-line from three diff manufacturers (all half helmets) and this is the one I decided to keep for myself. I will keep on of the other 2 for passengers. Overall people mostly gripe about sizing (hard to get right unless you know your size w/ that manufacturer) or the Visor clarity (CLEAN IT FIRST WITH ALCOHOL AND TOWELS OR A LENS WIPE FRONT AND BACK!, or the chin strap, which I found pretty normal across helmets I tested. ... show more
