My hair is bald around the edges from years of tight microbraids. When I wear my hair back, I was filling in the edges with black eyebrow pencils. This is much better. It's more natural looking and much quicker. It takes very little powder to fill a space, so I definitely expect to get more than my money's worth. Love it! Love it! Love it!!!! This next comment is in response to TR's comment about the .11 oz bottle of Toppik being the size of a thimble. TR if you don't like the product that's fine, but you don't have to lie about the size. So I've been looking at this item in my shopping cart for several months. Scared to order it due to the mixed reviews. My front hairline started to thin out due to my past wig wearing. Not just because I wore wigs but because I always used the front comb to secure my wigs down. I started using blk eye shadow to cover my hairline but it would look grayish. I've spent so much on wigs that I thought trying this product for $6 Was worth the lost if it didn't work. In my heart I felt this product wouldn't work due to the reveiws. I'm completely blown away by how much I love this product. I was amazed at the end results. It's so much better than the eye shadow. Yes, I believe it worked well because I do have hair in that area. I took my time using it after reading all the reviews. There was no mess at all. The product stayed in place. I didn't use any product to help it adhere to my scalp. I'm really pleased with my purchase. The downside is that, I see a purchase of a Bigger bottle in my future, lol. I ordered dark brown for myself since I ended up getting a bald spot due to stress (thank you university) and it worked perfectly on my dark brown hair. I would set it with hairspray and I never had an issue with it coming off until my next hair wash. I also ended up trying this on my husband since he is starting to bald. He has more of a dirty blonde/light brown hair color, but with pomade, it turns a more medium brown. It ended up adhering very well with the pomade and setting with hairspray. You definitely want to use a light hand and layer the product with a tapping motion or you'll end up being very obvious. After seeing the results, I stocked up on medium brown for my husband and it works perfectly. A picture is worth a 1,000 words, so just check out the photos for yourself. I definitely recommend trying this product if you have sparseness in your hair as it works better when there is something to cling on to. If you don't have a "base", definitely use a type of pomade or hairspray for it to adhere to. ... show more

I am thinning at the temples due to postpartum hair loss. So glad I only ordered the smallest size of this, because it doesn't work for me. I tried sprinkling directly from the container and applying with a makeup brush the effect was the same both ways. The fibers clung to certain parts of my scalp more than others leaving a patchy effect that looked bad even from a distance. I will go back to using eyeshadow to conceal my thinned hairline. ... show more

I purchased the medium brown, in the smallest size so I could try it out. The bottle is very tiny, but I have to admit that I am very surprised by how many uses I have gotten out of it so far! Although, you can not see through the bottle so it is impossible to say how many uses I have left in it too, as the product itself is pretty much weightless. I have to say that I kind of have a love/hate relationship with this product. I am torn between giving this product a 2 or 3 star rating. In the end, I went with a 3. This is because I feel that perhaps this product would work better for someone who has hair that is not quite as thin as mine is. The medium brown that I ordered is much darker than I had expected. I personally feel that the medium brown is much more of a dark brown. So, I will say that this product does indeed help make your hair appear thicker. I feel that it helps to give my very thin and very fine hair a bit of lift/volume at the root. I appreciate this about this product. I am able to hide the spots where my hair is super thin and pretty much balding. From a distance I love the way this product helps my hair!! With that being said, I can not bring myself to actually love this product as much as I want to. I have tried so many different ways of applying it, and I still haven't found a way of doing it that it is less noticeable closer up. I am very self conscious that people will notice it, as it does end up blotchy and in small chunks. I am unable to apply this near my hair part, as it is extremely obvious that it is not natural. The best way to apply that I have found, is to make several parts in my hair an inch or two from where I leave my hair parted and sprinkle lightly along those. But any closer than a half inch or so from where my hair will stay, and it's a disaster. Big dark brown blotches and white scalp, ugh it's a ugly mess. There is no smell to the product, and I can't say that I have experienced any irritation or discomfort from it. This surprised me a lot, as I have very sensitive skin and my scalp has been extremely sensitive since I tried using Monat products to help with my hairloss. I also do not feel like this product has or will contribute to further hair loss. I also have been pleasantly surprised that I have not had any transfer issues with this product. There is no issues with going to bed or laying down or putting a hood of a jacket up over my head. No color transfer at all. I do not think I will reorder this product. I may try another brand and see if it is any better in being less clumpy or obvious in the sunlight or closer up. Or, I may just go back to order more of the Batiste Dry Shampoo spray for dark hair, as I felt like that product was so much less obvious and I could spray it right on my scalp and nobody would really notice it. Plus it smelled nice lol. Like I said, I want to love it.... but I just can't. Being a female with hair loss is very very difficult. ... show more

This is regarding the color..light brown. Its green not brown..almost olive color. I've used medium brown and dark brown before and love the product. If I could return I would. I would never buy this color again.
